"Yesterday lasts forever.
Tomorrow comes never.

▪︎▪︎▪︎The main characters:
•West Ashby - typical high school jock who is popular and is good at football. Grief stricken inside, however, as his dad slowly dies. No one else outside his home and the doctors know about it so he acts like everything is okay at school.
•Maggie Carlton - new girl in town, pretty and mute. She keeps silent after witnessing the murder of her mother by her father. She doesn't talk to anyone to protect herself from being asked about that night.
Side Characters:
•West Ashby's football buddies and bffs - pretty cool crowd. Not portrayed as the mean bunch like usual books.
•Rayleigh - West Ashby's ex-girlfriend. The "bitchy hoe" of the story.
▪︎▪︎▪︎The story:
West finally found someone to confide and let himself out to in the form of Maggie. He was the reason she talked for the first time after 2 years. And he gets to be the only one she talks to for a while. West grew attached to Maggie after telling her about his father and finding out how she also needed someone. They both understood the grief. In between all this, she ended up falling in love with him after just 3 weeks (roughly)!

"People sometimes still drown in the shallow end."
She's done it again. Ms. Colleen owns my literary heart.

Their conversations are weird.
Ava - I understand her trauma but the author handled it really trashy. Ugh. I don't understand Ava at all. Her character and behavior was just all over the place. I can't seem to place it but I hated how she supposedly knows Knox. Her head voice keeps prompting her to coax Knox into spilling all his secrets.
It just seems forced to me. And her nickname to him, "Cold and evil", damn even his real name is shorter. She just suddenly wants to have sex with him even though she doesn't know if it's him or his brother that raped her.
I don't know. I just hated her parts and how she conversed. She seemed faker than the queen bee.
Knox and Dane had more interesting story. Also, Knox's first name baffles me. Hahaha.
But yes, this book? 1 star, garbage, and trauma not handled well.
I only like the last 10% of this book.

2.5? Or 3? Idk
This book is depressing.
I love CoHo but this one didn't do it for me. The ending left me saying, "that's it?". Ugh.

So much symbolism in this book, every time I think of them - my heart breaks little by little.
•2nd month of reading romance and not fantasy.•
I finished this book to find out who actually did it. I liked their connection however it felt flat. All their interactions almost had nothing happen.
I'm not sure if this can be classified as a bully romance as he barely hurt her by "bullying" her. It was more the fact that he tried to ignore her.
It felt flat but real at the same time. I can easily connect with characters, but didn't with this book. Idk why. It was meh.
Also, this cover. Like, why?!
