It’s hard to feel for Tori in the beginning of the book but by the end I feel sad for, not only her, but for all women in relationships like this. She’s also placed so much pride on being this public persona that’s just so incredible and has a perfect relationship that most people would kill for. I’m finding a lot of similarities between the characters in her and her second novel, pretending.

Men will literally suck you dry of everything once you’ve made the decision to let them in your lives. This is was so hard to read but unsurprising as well. It’s become common knowledge to me but it never gets easier to notice.
LOVED this book! This had my attention from the beginning. Not going to lie, it really had my anxiety going as well. I loved the twists and turns and the writing. Cannot wait to read the second novel! ✨
A very informative book. I appreciate the authors candour and intention behind this book. I think it's quite inspiring. My main critique would be that the last 60 pages felt rushed. Especially the last chapter. I would have liked a more slower ending.
Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

I signed up for a book about a catfish but left with so much more. I can't even put into words how this book has made me feel but I highly recommend. ALSO, please look up the trigger warnings before reading. Page 384 Me: Alexa? Play What was I made for? by Billie Eilish
