Some good things to think about in terms of experimentation and iteration when doing product development. Very little is limited to startups, I found but the continual reification of startups quite off-putting. I try to take the intelligent bits and keep them in mind for my own work, but the complete lack of self-awareness with regard to the deeply problematic aspects Silicon Valley startup culture — not to mention the near complete conflation between users, customers, and investors — undermines the otherwise valuable recommendations. I think one can get a better idea of such patterns from Creative Selection by Ken Kocienda.
A great finish to the series. I thoroughly enjoyed the banking bits; such a great twist on the usual fantasy tropes, at the same time teaching people about the invention of money. Clever. I'll remember the series for that, and for the great, full, characters, for a long time.
Another great addition to The Expanse universe. Can't wait for the next one.
The Expanse series is just great, a fun romp around the galaxy, with interesting characters who develop over the series. becoming better-rounded people. This latest in the series is probably the least fantastic, but clearly sets up a fantastical plot for the forthcoming series finale. I look forward to reading it.
First sci fi novel ever to blow my mind. But that was 20 years ago. On re-reading, I enjoyed it, but wasn't as wowed as I remember being. My fault for being a jaded old man.
