If I could find the ebook I would prefer to read that way. I am not enjoying the narrator for the audiobook.
I really tried, I wasn't very interested in Evelyn and Quincy's relationship.
It doesn't need to be this long. It's taking forever to get to the meat and potatoes. The pages of lyrics is unnecessary
In an attempt to not spoil the story I have a parent with vascular dementia and the portrayal of Sienna's father dealing with the condition was so unrealistic it took me out of the story.
I enjoyed her debut novel so much, but this one just fell flat. Wale and Temi's relationship was bogged down with miscommunication, and I think there was so much insight into their dynamic that I would have loved to have. A little more nuance, maybe?
I was expecting more mystery and tension. The detail in the writing is very industrial, and I thugged it out to the end of part one expecting to be left with some anticipation for part two but it was overall boring to me.
The story had good bones, but the writing was not it and felt rushed. Jasper was not giving me any feels.
There were aspects of her life I wish she had delved into more, it times it still read as guarded and I don't felt like I got not insight into Eve.
I might return to this, because I did not make it to the point when Zodiac and Reason are adults. I just wasn't feeling back and forth of "I love you, but we're just friends"
I think I'm not gelling with the format the story is being told in. I'm just not intrigued by where this story is going.
