Nothing interesting happened.

A married couple who also are serial killers. They argree to stop killing to raise their child.

There is some miscommunication, mistrust, and some background on the couple. The ending seemed unrealistic.  What happen to the dog?

I enjoyed an audiobook when  different people are voicing different characters.

If you're going to enjoy this novel please listen to the audiobook it elevates the experience

This story tells of an unrealiable narrator, a missing wife, grieving writer husband, and a small island with secrets.

The ending felt rushed to me and I wish the backstory of the MMC was fully developed to truly understand his actions.

An okay read.

A very sensitive and possibly triggering novel about obessive, abuse, stalking, and terrible relationships. The MFC has been through it all and want to forget the pass but the past is now back to haunt her.

A fast wild ride that was all of the place. The author wrote the MFC as being mixed race but the details about her hair and color seemed forced and written in an unauthentic way, cringe worthy.
The novel had a lot of twists and turns but a times the storyline was annoying as in all the characters acted in childish or unrealistic manners.  The husband actions seemed misplaced and rushed with no background to that relationship.

I would recommend to a novice thriller reader.

A quick read about a woman who is trying to start a new  life with her husband and newborn although she is paranoid that her childhood secret will be revealed.

There was a lot of repetitive dialogue and most of the character were horrible people. I would recommend this novel a novice thriller reader.

A tale of a virus that causes death or blissful happiness. Some people want to contract it others want to eradicate it. Being someone who has read and loved 7 novels from this author I am disappointed.  What I did enjoy is the concept of the plot but way too long of a novel.

Between the endless introduction of characters, to the repetitive word usage, to the lack of a entertaining storyline, to a forced romatic partnship, to a rushed ending. I did not enjoy.

Fern was definitely on the Autism spectrum. I wouldnt say she had an intellectual disability as she is able to live independently, hold a job, and manage bills.

Anyway, an okay read. I would recommend to a novice thriller reader. Toward the middle I was bored and not a lot happen. Very slow paced.

Quick read about an obessive wife.  At times the narrative dragged. I enjoyed the addition of the epilogue.

The audiobook helped with keeping track of each character. But reading the ebook at times was lost with each back story.

Not an original premise. I felt like I was getting a behinds the scene look of COVID. I wish the story took another look at the impact of the virus on culture and the new norm .. without males.

The ending dragged. An okay read.

Although "A sky full of elephants came out in 2024, it was a similar novel"
