It was a bit too slow for me overall, but the contrast in the settings of country comedy novel and gothic tragedy was just amazing. The only part that seemed to lag were the
pages and pages of missed connections after Huntingdon's death (rest in fucking pieces). Super proud that i guessed Lawrence marrying Esther, still pictured Gilbert showing up to the wedding singing Channa Mereya.
That ending even made me warm up to fucking Gilbert again, Anne you had no right being so romantic in a criticism of the institution of marriage.

Could not put it down much to my own detriment, as I had an exam the next day. This book completely flips a seemingly shallow, “time pass” movie on its head, notably presenting the tamest look into the (as widely accepted) most dynamic character, and then the most bonkers, as well as the best justified and researched theory to a woman (or two) not important enough even for the cover. Then it has an even better and much more convincing counter-theory for that as well.
C’mon, let’s make the impossible possible. Jai Hind :)

My first ever theory book. Blew my mind with how clear and direct Fanon is about what feels like an insurmountable challenge. Evaporated my last sympathies with the imperial core and its selective principles.

Nostalgia and clear fangirling doesn’t make for the most incisive journalism, but come on. It’s Sholay. Who can focus on on-set sexual misconduct and other rumors when it’s fucking Sholay. I read this book as a pdf amd finished it in a day yippee.
