oh mY GODDD okay what a ride. tbh i really really wanted to give this 5 stars, i love this book so much but i'm picky. adam, ur 'plot twists' were so random. like there was one i was expecting, and it kind of made sense, but the next one??? like huh? there was no build up, no suggestion to even HINT it had happened and then there was suddenly a sentence explaining it had happened. very confusing fr. ANOTHER THING pls drop the blame game. griffin would not blame anyone for theo's death idec. that's not a spoiler bc y'all know he's dead from the first sentence! it's kind of realistic in terms of dealing w grief and stuff buT THERE'S LIKE A FEW MOMENTS where i'm questioning it n i'm like hmmmm. but it's really good. i meAN SAD HONESTLY but yk. it took a while to read bc i was in a reading slump for a bit but there was no issue picking up where i left off and it's easy to follow fr<3 AND THERE WAS ONE MOMENT WHEN I GASPED FR LIKE. also i hate this one bitch but we don't talk abt her. y'all will know who i mean.

okay tbh!! i had very big expectations for this book. it was. like. okay? so it wasn’t ALL bad. the book had a rlly good concept that could have been executed real good! but it wasn’t. idk man. it just felt like it was being dragged out? and when u got to the ending like what was that ending. everything seemed to turn on its head, and everything was positive for brinkley!! like? what? also what was that name… genuinely. anyway we won’t ponder too much on names bc girl. i genuinely thought i was reading a wattpad book w the whole execution. the only rlly likeable character was mark and then what did sonia do at the end??? ruined him. like. the relationship to me honestly made little sense? like i was rooting for mark in the beginning but then he just turned up out of nowhere which made. no sense. let him live his life. and the whole PLOT lord.  there was drama but it was "drama". like. one min they hating each other n the next they kissing? like huh? it was very confusing n tried to move way too fast.

YALL this was mad. im so ANNOEYDSAUI like bro. i cant even spoil it for yall bc by the end half the plot twists aint even solved. like cmon. im lowkey addicted to this series. i need to finish it bc what. so there's quite a few plot twists and there's one right at the end, y'all know which one i mean. i guessed most of the plot twists im not gonna lie, most were predictable buT I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING LIEK WHAT. crazy. the writing was sanist a few times. it felt like diverse characters were j included for it to be diverse. like, a sentence was made abt them, maybe about like their pronouns or smth and that was it. u got one sentence. if ur gonna represent someone do it right! like, the author misgendered her own character. bfr. i felt like the author kinda rushed the ending? i mean, great ending, don't get me wrong. this was a medium paced book up until chapter 26. after that i was like "more is happening in these last chapters than the 26 chapters before it" like sm was happening n it was hard to keep track of who did what.

im j genuinely confused by this book pls. it was so bad?? it felt like the author was tryna be inspiring but just... wasn't. it was all over the place tbh and i honestly didn't understand 90% of the book. one minute she was writing abt her ex and the next she was writing abt her current gf... like? the theme she was writing/who she was writing to or about changed every 10 lines and there was no clear indication of what she was acc talking abt cus half of the writing was in metaphors. it felt like she was tryna be the next rupi kaur (she failed spectacularly). i mean it might be someone's cup of tea but this book n the writing style was just way too long to be classed as "poetry." i mean. there were wholeass paragraphs. i mean ig there's rhymes so! there's not much to say tbh. it's just bad. i gave it 2.25 stars bc it's okay?? like it's readable, i finished it. i did struggle to finish it though. idk the writing was just a bit :// i didn't really enjoy it and it felt a bit all over the place and random.

oh mY GODDDDDd. this was so sad. i wanted to cry most of the time bc WHAT. and the author's note j made it sadder :( but it was mostly good?? there were times when the actual writing was mid and also it was a tad sanist and ableist but it's pretty good and also rlly thought provoking. there were ways i expected it to go but it didnt go that way which was kind of annoying but i wont hold a grudge bc the way it did go completeLY THREW ME OFF. like 70% of the book is talking about this text which alexis holds guilt for and then i found out what he said and i was like Oh. LIKE IT WAS SO SAD I FELT SO BAD even if she's fictional bc the author isn't and :( IT WAS SO UIHAFOIUSH like if you're not ready to cry don't read this bc u will cry. but it's a good book. it didnt rlly portray therapy correctly (for me personally.) there seemed to be a lot of therapy stereotypes, that the only ppl who go to therapy are 'crazy' as alexis says, but that's not the case and sanist tbh. asides from that it was rlly good, it got the grief process spot on.

SHAOFUAFI okay this was a ride. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT BC I WAS EXPECTING A LIGHTHEARTED BOOK. but it kind of made it well rounded that it wasnt j lighthearted??? also in the most respectful way possible this read sm like a fanfiction icl. it was easy to read ig. it was a LILLL sanist n ableist BUT it seems a lot of books are and this was one was v brief unlike others so i'll let alexis off. the ending in all honesty felt a lil rushed n honestly alexis bae i stuck w u for 50+ chapters i would not care less if u had dragged the ending out a lil bit. it kind of lost the momentum bc we all knew what was coming n we literally got hit w it. so that's a note. anyway. it's a good book. it's a great book n this was so cute!! most of the time. other times i cried. this is not a 100% lighthearted book, u have been misled. also pick a better charity next time. is that charity even a concept? u could have picked anything. it was funny tho. ALSO THE COMEBACKS/SNARKY COMMENTS HAD ME GIGGLING. this book had me giggling kicking my feet twirling my hair fr.

YALLLL i was not ready for this book. it literally had... me... hooked... sorry i had to. ANYWAY THIS WAS SO AUHFASUOF like it was SUCH a slow paced book n took me quite a while to finish but lorddddd. the plot twists j kept coming!! im a big advocate for plot twists, i love THEM. 90% of the time i see them coming and i know exactly what the plot "twist" is. wasnt the case w this book. the plot twists didnt rlly take place until the end? n then they call came in a row. BOOM BOOM BOOM, continuous plot twists. u should have seen my face i was fr GASPING. some of the lines r so raw n special to me fr like oh my word. ik this ain't a retelling of the "fairytale" but the CHARACTERISATIONS. there was one plot twist (yall know what im talking abt once u read it) that made me feel a lilllll ????? but we move. we'll j pretend that plot twist don't exist. it's definitely extremely gory n the plot is either a sex scene or someone being killed so i'd recommend not reading in public. also it aint for the lighthearted. when i say the gore/violence is graphic, i aint exaggerating. it's a tad sanist but.

okay so i'm surprised that i'm not giving this book 5 stars. tbh i do rlly like it, and it used to b one of my favs. i recently reread it and was like?? at some points. it's not confusing perse, but it's just. the book is pretty much 70% dialogue. it honestly could literally b a playscript instead of a book. from what i gathered, everyone in the book is white. the only "diverse" character is mrs barkova. there's a few plot twists but there's a "big" plot twist. i guessed the so-called plot twist in the first couple of chapters. i wasn't surprised. the other plot twist which basically builds the whole plot of the book is so painfully obvious there's honestly no point dragging it out (which it is.) there were some points which didn't add anything to the storyline n idk why they were included tbh. also i was confused why there was a government but not a court system? they mostly come hand in hand so it doesn't make sense why one was abolished but the other wasn't. idek when/where this was supposed to be set. but!! it is rlly good in terms of being a dystopian and overall, the concept is rlly good.

literally heart eyes for this book!! i ADORED hani and ishu omg. i think it had a realistic rep of biphobia n UFASGFUASF. it was 80% fluff but that 20%... there were a few terms that i didn't initially know bc i'm not bangladeshi but it did open a few convos w my bangladeshi friend n i learnt a lot about their culture so i think that was one of the positives abt this book, it incorporated the culture n made it an important aspect of their lives so well. im not a super big fan of fake dating tropes but this genuinely shocked me that i liked it sm?? it was executed PERFECTLY and literally am in love w this book. it's such a comfort apart from the ainsley/deidre characters. literally this book was perfection, and i loved the dynamic between hani and ishu. honestly i will always hold this book to my heart, its one of my favs. also i'd 100% watch this if it was adapted into a tv show so like j saying, it should be adapted. it's honestly just <333333 i love it so so much n i think it's a rlly important book for ppl to read regardless of sexuality n ethnicity bc it's also rlly informative n educational. i adore it sm.

honestly. wow. everyone needs to read this. it's a book, yet so much more. there's times where i laughed, smiled, cried. i saw the plot twist coming, but seconds before it came. kind of like when you hit a wall and then realise it's a wall. it's fiction, but it's not. i don't completely relate to the character, but in different ways i do. it was really moving and could probably help a lot of people. it's realistic. it portrays ocd in a way i haven't seen ocd portrayed (yet) and it's an ACCURATE portrayal. it's not only the "addicted to cleaning" misconception. every word added something. it's not a light book. there are light moments, funny moments, but it's not a light book. i think that's important. it approaches topics that need to be approached. i won't spoil the ending, but the ending did the mc justice. i loved this book. i hate odd numbers and not using a half/quarter star rating, but i can't give it anything else. i can't find a flaw. even when the words weren't the poetry that surrounds the plot, the words were poetry. if that makes sense. i was expecting a good book but it's honestly incredible.
