Really liked the premise of this book. The idea of hell presented was really interesting to read about and the other half of the story about the Harrison family was also very intriguing and fun to read. My main gripe with this book was the chapter lengths. The chapters were only a couple pages long most of the time and the POV changed each chapter so as soon as something remotely interesting happened the POV then switched to the other story being told since half the book it on peyote’s POV and the other half is different members of the Harrison family’s POV. This made the book a fairly quick read bc it made you want to keep reading to find out what happened but by the time you got back to that POV it took a moment to remember what was going on. I also didn’t love that the two sides of the story felt pretty much completely separate up until the very end but I don’t think there was necessarily a good way to get around that with this story.

Otherwise this was a fun read and really just needed a bit better editing to be truly great in my opinion.

Not my favourite book and a little too YA for me but was a nice easy audiobook to listen to while I was driving of doing chores. I will say that I think I may have enjoyed it more if I actually read it instead of listening to it as I found the names of people somewhat confusing in the beginning just listening to them. Would recommend for a younger audience tho as I am 25.

This book had a much more slow start compared to the first one but it really picked up near the end. I would have liked more of the characters from six scorched roses involved with the story but I get that it’s not their book. I will definitely read the following books in this series when they come out.

One of my favourite books of all time. I just wish it was aged up and more of an adult book as opposed to young adult

I absolutely adored this book! I loved that it was set primarily outside of the uk or America. I also liked that it was based around traditional fae myths in an academic setting. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series when it comes out.

A very cute cozy book and was a nice change of pace. I have never read a fantasy book like it and while I wouldn’t want to exclusively read cozy books like this it is nice once and a while.

This book just didn’t live up to the hype for me. It was so confusing to figure out what was going on for the first bit of the book and the overly flowery language didn’t help that. For being only 200 pages I should have been able to finish it super quickly but instead it took me about a week because I just couldn’t get into it. Overall it was just to abstract for my taste tho I did understand why others have really loved it.
