I tell everyone that will listen to read this. It is an incredible story and I can’t wait to reach the end now that the series has returned. Beautiful art, beautiful writing, beautiful characters, creative, funny… it’s hard to find any faults.

I genuinely love this entire series. Dave Louapre is a fantastic writer and Dan Sweetman is an even better illustrator. The stories vary in quality but none are misses. The art itself makes the weakest entries still stand above most anthology graphic novels, especially in the horror genre.
Each story is unique and thoughtful and typically left me contemplating the themes and ideas presented to some degree. I wish I had the time to review each entry individually but I hope people who read this review will take the time to read through the entire series. I’m very grateful I came across this series.

One of the greatest of all times. I’ll write a longer review one day, right after another re-read.

I can appreciate this as part of the foundation of Providence, but nothing more than that. I would consider this incredibly weak relative to what Moore is capable of with his writing; it makes sense that this was, from what I understand, written because Moore “needed some money quickly”.
I understand Moore’s intention of pulling back the curtain on Lovecraft’s personal beliefs and mythos but, specifically regarding the mythos, I think Lovecraft’s references to ‘nameless rituals’ leaves a lot more to each reader’s personal imagination than the gruesome sequence Moore presents.
