The only reason I gave this four stars is because of how it takes place during modern day. It threw me for a loop and I didn't much like those bits. They didn't seem to belong well in my opinion otherwise I loved this book!

No spoiler short review. Normally, any book that the Queen writes would get a full five stars from me. The reason for four stars is because I struggled through some of the more political bits. If the entire book was as engrossing as the second part, five full stars. But it was an amazing book all the same!

This book could have been so good but the writing is just bad. Things are rushed. The main character just bounces everywhere from being strong-ish to a damsel in distress. You can tell that the author is mainly a romance writer. Maybe I’ve been spoiled by Sarah J Maas and Leigh Bardugo. Yes, I will be reading the second book in hopes that the author will get her crap together. Ugh I am the disappointed.
