The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
5.0
This book. Was EXACTLY what I was looking for. I needed something with in depth characters, extensive character development, and raw feelings and emotions. THIS was it. I couldn't stop reading and there wasn't a single part of the writing, the storyline, or the characters that I disliked. I can't even formulate my thoughts into words to write a half decent review right now.
From the drama, to the twists, to the heartbreak, to the heartwarming connections that develop. How things go full circle in this book and everything connects and makes sense. What a masterpiece. Truly. Ugh. I love this book.

Audiobook 3.5 actual rating, but rounded down because I couldn't make myself give it a 4 star

4.5 stars. I really enjoyed the character development in this book and how so many people- their lives, their stories, their struggles, their history- all intertwined to compose one common theme of loss. Whether the loss of a loved one, loss of something that could have been, loss of a potential. So much loss in this book, but it also shows how you can flourish and grow from the loss.

"Remember, sometimes you need to scorch everything to the ground and start over. After the burning, the soil is richer, and new things can grow. People are like that, too. They start over. They find a way."

Listen to this on audiobook This was a pretty decent mystery novel. I liked the references from other novels and actually added a few of them to my TBR! though I had suspected Marty to be the killer for only a brief moment, I was actually leaning more towards Emily or Tess. Quiet, wouldn't suspect them normally. I was taken aback when I found out how Claire actually died.

I listened to this on audiobook and thoroughly loved the multiple narrators. I honestly feel like that saved the book for me as being a 4 star as opposed to a 3, which makes me sad because I rated The Seven Husbands by TJR a 5 star. This was a good story with pretty decent character development and was true to the sex, drugs, and rock and roll theme. But I just didn't find myself completely sucked in. It almost seemed redundant at times. The band played, the members fought, they had random sex, and did lots of drugs. Overall, I'm glad I did this on audio and didn't purchase the book itself.

4.5!! I loved this story. It seriously kept me guessing the whole time about what Quincy was capable of, how Mysterious Sam was, Lisa's death. I never once saw the twist coming about Sam being Tina, like. Actually being her not just it being an alias. And though at the beginning I did have a fleeting suspicion that Coop had something to do with the Pine Cottage incident, I never thought he would've been the sole perpetrator. This was a nice suspenseful quick read! Definitely looking forward to my next Riley Sager!

Well, SHUCK. While this book had me confused at the beginning (which helps you feel as confused as the main character), I quickly was engrossed in this novel. There was not a single lacking portion of this book. The characters and their development, the action and suspense. There were so many times where I just had to keep reading to finally know what something was! The whole premise of this book is awesome, really. Im so glad this is a series because that ending..
