The Murder That Never Was by Andrea Kane
4.0
I was sent a free copy of this book for review.
A lot of suspense and good plot twists along the way. Stolen identities, murders, bad guys, friendship, team work.... this book has a bit of everything. What seems like a very simple case on the surface turns into a more complex case as the Forensic Instincts team find out more along the way.
It lost a point because it was a little bit confusing in certain parts because there were parts where characters would be talking and then it hopped straight to other characters talking in another place. A few line breaks would solve that issue though so nothing major.
Definitely worth reading if you like books in the murder mystery genre.

I was given a free copy of this book from Book Look Bloggers in exchange for my honest review, and I'm so glad I was!
This book was a real page turner. I couldn't wait to find out what really happened "that night" and who did it.
I don't usually like books that hop back and forth in time but with this one it worked perfectly. I always knew where I was and never had that feeling of being confused about the who, what, and when.
Well written, good characters, good plot, a good dose of action and suspense... this book is a winner.

The Tao of Book Publicity: A Beginner's Guide to Book Promotion by Paula Margulies
5.0
Although the subtitle of this book states "Beginner's Guide" this book is really a must read for all authors. Margulies obviously knows her stuff and gives good advice and tips throughout. I thought she particularly excelled when talking about planning, organising, and carrying out events, and loved that she went beyond just simple book signings to include conventions, trade shows, and more.
Whilst she does mention her experience as a book publicist throughout the book it's never done in a "talk down to you" kind of way. In fact she even has a chapter at the end of the book where she talks about finding the right publicist for you, and if it's worth you getting one.

Cabin FURvor by Patricia Fry
3.0
This is the first book from the A Klepto Cat Mystery Series that I've read, and I'm now curious to read some of the earlier books in the series (this is in fact book 16). It was totally fine to read as a stand alone so if you're like me and have never read the other books in the series don't be put off.
Cabin FURvor is a quick read, with LOTS of action going on throughout. These ladies really do get stuck in the middle of ALL the action! A group of friends, two cats, a missing woman, dead bodies in the lake, strange locals... Cabin FURvor has a lot going on.
On the whole I enjoyed the book, but was a bit put off by the constant digs and arguing between the friends. I felt it did more to take away from the story than to add to it. As this is book 16 in the series the reasons for that kind of relationship may have been covered in the previous books though.

Hager is definitely in touch with the teen age group! This book took me right back to being a teen.
I highly recommend this book for those in the young adult age group, and anyone else that likes YA fiction.

I absolutely loved this book! Definitely a 5 star, and I will be checking out other books by this author in the future. I officially have a fictional crush on Rafe. Strong, defined characters. Well written. Had me rooting for Rafe and Genesis the whole way through, so much so that I almost forgot about the bad guy, them BAM! Highly recommend.
