this is my least fave of the three but only because the nonconsensual bite kinda threw me off. nevertheless, this was so freakin fun and i need miss lemming to write as many mead mishaps as possible. i genuinely almost passed out in public when it clicked who cherry was!!!!

i mean it was definitely a story! i love a bodyguard romance and the twist at the end was pretty fun. easy to scratch the itch of finishing something while i’m reading something with actual substance

A Court of Thorns and Roses was good.
A Court of Mist and Fury was PHENOMENAL. Seriously, there were parts that I reread like 6 times.
A Court of Wings and Ruin was...pretty good, I think.

When I finished it last night in a marathon 7 hours, I was so shook and so obsessed and completely enthralled; I was so happy about how it all went down and loved every second I got to spend with Rhys and Feyre. I've seen a lot of complaints about Rhys, but I will go down loving him with my whole heart. He may be too perfect but I'm still into it. Give me all the misunderstood bad boy types who just need some love, my arms are open for you.

After having slept on it, I think I do have some reservations with giving this five stars, which is why I took one away. The villains were too much of a caricature at some points and the good characters were always so damn good. People died, and came back to life moments later. A lot of hellfire went down, but it didn't feel like anything was permanent. And to be fair, I love that level of escapism in reading books like these, having the faith that things would end fine even if we went through hell to get there. But sometimes, even though the stakes were so high, I didn't feel the stress I did while reading other books, like The Hunger Games (the third book is the first time I actually threw a book at a wall), and likely within this story I will never feel such profound anxiety.

I love happy endings, but this one just felt too miraculous at some points. I cared more about the relationships than I did about the plot..because it was guaranteed in some ways that everything would go well, but there were no guarantees about the foundling relationships that are slowly growing. I am a complete slut for those. The plot was action packed and stuffed with craziness for sure, but a lot was happening and it really was hard to keep up.

I also didn't love the representation of bisexuality/sexuality in general (save us the sex scenes, please. No one really wants those), but other reviewers seem to have covered that in great detail. And I'm still not down with the redemption of Tamlin. If you're gonna destroy a character, destroy it and let it be. His redemption was literally too easy.

But overall, this was a supremely fun read. I could not put it down, and as a whole, I loved this series. I'd give the three books an overall 4.5. I'm excited for what's to come, and can't wait to read the novella. I hear it's just the whole gang having a good time, and I love the characters enough that that's exactly what I want to read.
Summer by Edith Wharton

I think my initial reaction through the book was "ALL MEN DO IS LIE! EVEN IN THE 1900S ALL THEY DID WAS LIE." Which may say more about me than it does about the book, but do with that what you will.

While this was not erotic by today's standards, compared to Wharton's House of Mirth & Age of Innocence, this was downright steamy. I enjoyed it. While I wanted to punch Charity for most of the book, my heart still broke for her repeatedly, and the ending near killed me inside. It took me about an hour and a half to read, and it was time well spent.
