A great introduction to these characters. Interested to read more.
In just four issues (and an epilogue) this has become a comic that I can't get enough of. This southern fried world is presented so clearly through excellent dialogue and some mind blowing art. This is a great fix if you were a Justified fan too. Just great stuff.
This is everything I wanted Vol 2 of Lumberjanes to be.
So much fun! X-plain the X-men podcast recommended this over actually reading the Silver Age stuff, and I then so happened to see it at Half Price Books. Now I just have to somehow get my hands on Claremont's run.
The amount of confidence to tell this kind of story so early in the run is astounding.
A great slice of history. Some characters that have lasted decades get their start here, and even from the beginning they are built to last. The art is always good if not amazing in these issues. There is some 70's silliness to be sure, but overall I am not surprised that this became Marvel's flagship series after reading a foundation this solid.

Welp that Phoenix Saga was the best thing ever and really lived up to the hype.

Still one of the best written and drawn series out right now. A weird but sweet story about family that I still can't get enough of.
