Magnificent. Every issue, like the recipes within, should be given plenty of time to marinate so that they can be truly savored.

Possibly the most disturbing graphic novel I've ever read. 5 stars.
adventurous emotional funny hopeful inspiring lighthearted relaxing medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Character
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: No

What a lovable crew this is. While the book is not plot heavy, all the characters are challenged externally and internally enough that you are still eager to see what happens next.
informative fast-paced

I enrolled in a very unique Criminal Justice class in college in 2011 where every two weeks we would cover a complex political issue and try to familiarize ourselves with how it came to be and what possible paths there were moving forward. One issue that we covered that semester was the Israel/Palestine conflict. I was already somewhat familiar with the situation due to one of my best friends being the son of Palestinian immigrants. But it was diving deep into the history of the conflict during that class that really opened my eyes to not only the illegal Occupation that Palestine is suffering but also how manipulative the pro-Israel narrative is in the U.S.

Raja Shehadeh gives us a succinct version of that history here and brings you up to speed on how inevitable the war on Gaza was. I highly recommend this as a springboard to becoming informed on this issue, and as motivation to continue being informed now that we are no longer hearing about this every day.
