As Sure as the Dawn by Francine Rivers

Kind of a tangent from the first book of the series so unrelated to the second book, but very good I think. I just think it got a lil weird at the end. It could've been a little more realistic. Especially when trying to incorporate faith, the ending just seemed rushed.

So good. Sobbed. Of course. This is a classic so if you haven't read it already, do it.

Read this one a while ago, I remember liking it a lot, but cannot remember much else. I think I felt like the ending was a lil wacky but I can't be all that sure aha.

Thoroughly enjoyed this one. A slow read at the start for sure but the best books usually have a slow start because you're learning and falling in love with the characters. The ending really is what gets ya. Such a good book.

The storyline behind this book was really good, kept you wanting to know more and read more. However, there were soooo many paragraphs that I just pretty much skipped because they seemed like unnecessary details that just kept the story from moving along. I also felt, simultaneously, that there were details that were left out that made it hard to understand the why and what was happening and what they were doing. I had to reread pages and then kind of guess what was happening because there were hardly any clues and the paragraph explaining it was all too vague. So those were my only issues. Otherwise, loved the story, I read it really fast and I never wanted to stop. Great book.

AMAZING. Hard to read at parts, because she's had a tough life, but so so so good and so inspiring. Don't watch the movie. It sucked. 2 stars.

Because it takes place in the Great Depression, it is naturally a really depressing book. I had a hard time reading it for a while because it was such a downer. But it gives you a cool different perspective of that time period historically (even tho this is a work of fiction). Character development is also really good.

An entertaining story and love the characters. Nothing all that deep and you don't get to know anyone all that well so it felt more like a fluffy book than anything. But good story if you are just looking for something lighter.

I am a huge lover of WWII novels. This one was definitely one of the best that I've read in a while. It had everything you look for in a good story really. There was the history, which I really appreciated the accuracy of, there was the romance, the mystery, the family connection, the action, everything that keeps you on the edge of your seat, craving more and more of what this story has to offer. It was incredible. I do have to admit though that there were parts that made me physically anxious (which just reflects how well she did in writing this novel to the truest and most accurate point she could having not been there herself, that this horrible time and series of events would make anyone sick to their stomachs). Anyway, LOVED this book. It's most likely going on my top 10 list!
