Tell Me I'm Worthless by Alison Rumfitt
alternatively, 'be mean to me', etc.
as someone whose media diet is 99.9% horror it takes a lot to make me cringe or flinch or even say 'ew'. this book chilled me to the bone and left haunting images in my mind. enjoyed it a lot. i understand the rumfitt hype now. also nicky my BELOVED. one of THE best narrators i've had the pleasure of listening to.
medium: audiobook (narr. Nicky Endres)

The House Next Door by Anne Rivers Siddons
this is a re-read. coming back to this from my first read (where i assumed it was like, a 2000s airport paperback) with more context and appreciation for Siddons herself made this very enjoyable. very re-read worthy. and massive props to the narrator who put her entiiire pussy into this

Books of Blood: Volume One by Clive Barker
medium: audiobook (narr. Jim Zeiger)
what an introduction to barker (though i've watched hellraiser). absolutely not for everyone, but personally found it fucking satisfying.
clive barker stories are so wet and horny and gross (highly complimentary)
these are three adjectives i can get behind
medium: audiobook (narr. Jim Zeiger)
Flowers in the Attic by V.C. Andrews
this book took me almost a month to read because it was so much more heavier than i expected going in. i hesitate to re-read or even recommend it because it gets brutal and graphic especially towards the end. certainly an experience.
