Ruth Reichl has an amazing way with words. Her ability to make you taste what you're reading is uncanny. Her honesty and reflection in this book is something I strive to be able to do. There are important leadership lessons in here too.

Saw that this was on Peacock (Chinese adaptation) and Netflix (English adaptation) and I wanted to read the book first. It's very intricate and geeky (which I enjoy), you definitely need to pay attention. Very creative story. I'm curious to see what happens in the sequel.

I truly enjoyed this novel. This take on the "fake dating" trope was fun and refreshing, I connected with the characters and loved getting to know each of them. A sequel within this world would be interesting.

I really enjoy Fiona Davis' novels. They're well-researched to place her ficticious characters perfectly along side real events, and I appreciate her author's notes explaining where she took liberties and how it all ties together.

A queer re-imagining of the first emperor of the Ming dynasty in the 1300s. Beautifully and tenderly written, and the audiobook narration by Natalie Naudus perfectly brings it to life.

An insightful and detailed biography of the Hemings family of Monticello. Made me consider perspectives I hadn't thought of about the diverse and complicated lives of enslaved peoples in our country.

These MurderBot books move so fast. I often have to rewind and re-listen to a few sections, which isn't a problem cause the book itself is so short.
This book was more of a connector in the series, weaving together a few of the other books and advancing the story lines.

The first novel in a high fantasy series - an evil ruler, an oppressed population, and a teenage girl who discovers she has magical powers. Loved it.
