The only thing I didn’t like about this book is the fact I have to wait another nine months to find out what happens next! Rebecca Yarros weaves her magic once again, taking readers on an edge of your seat dragon flight full of magic, politics, war and adventure. Once again I laughed, I cried, I got angry at characters and I was intrigued by the clues to upcoming plot twists. I did NOT however, see the cliffhanger plot twist coming. I cannot wait for January and Onyx Storm!!!!

Words cannot fully embody how I feel about this book. It takes you on a journey full of twists and turns, constantly leading you to believe you have it all figured out, then sharply changing gears to veer you away in the opposite direction. This was exquisitely done as I was enthralled with the story almost from page one. I flew through this book and enjoyed the experience immensely. I highly recommend this read and will be reading the second book soon!

It has been a LONG time since I’ve read a contemporary romance (I’m in my dark romance/fantasy era) but this book was gifted to me by a fan of the series so I gave it a shot.

It took a bit for me to really get into it, but overall I really enjoyed the story. Some parts were predictable but other times I was surprised by the outcome of an arc within the story. The characters are believable and the book touches on some tough, but import, topics. I’m now invested in the residents of Sugarlake and will definitely be reading the other three books in the series.

I had such a hard time putting this one down! The story was intriguing and I fell in love with several of the characters. The descriptions of the action made me feel as if I were experiencing the events and I found myself highly invested in the outcomes of each storyline. It does end on a  it of a cliffhanger but overall I really enjoyed this read and am jumping right into book two!

Words cannot explain how I feel after this book!!! It’s funny, sad, exhilarating and has a few WTF moments. I was hooked right up to the end! I definitely recommend if science is even of a little interest to you.
