The Merger by Adriana Locke

Another guilty pleasure read from Ms. Locke. All the feels and laughs I needed. Gannon is the oldest Brewer brother, and the grump in this family. He is layered, and I love how Carys tames him.

Carys is the hardworking, sunshine in the story. Fiercely independent, a bit stubborn, and the underdog, small business owner. She is the friend I want, witty, and positive. She needs Gannon for a contract, and her tenacity is her strong point.

I love the interaction between the two, the quick wit and banter this author is known for had me smiling throughout the story.

I love small town second chance romances, but lately add a morally gray cowboy and I am hooked. Beau and Abbie’s story grabbed me and did not let go. The angst and suspense just had me gripped to this story. Then there is the book hangover that follows, finding another story that gives me the same thrill is hard to find.

Their story is told through flashbacks, six years ago, to the present. Over six years, we see our characters grow, but their love never wavers. While the story is heartbreaking at times, it had my attention the entire time.

This is my first Brittany Ann book but not my last, this is the first in a series, and she has a backlist I plan to get to next.

A debut, start to a new series, small town, and a story that has stuck with me since I finished it. Wyatt is on his way home from his birthday celebration, and finds a baby under some brush on the side of the road. A little drunk, he picks up the baby and takes her home.

Maeve is relatable, she has taken care of others, as her own mother has not been the best caregiver to her and her brother. Because of this, she is in the system and becomes an emergency foster mom, to the baby Wyatt has found.

The story is well written, the characters are realistic, and the found family makes the story move forward. Wyatt is guarded and Maeve trusts very few, but will the baby be the link these two need to open their hearts?

This story is a journey, a tragic love story, and an opportunity for a second chance.

A vacation connection, only to be separated. Two souls with pasts that still haunt them, and secrets. Two broken hearts that now need to mend.

Lennon and Cruz have a story that was hard for me to put down. I needed answers, and fell in love with the Wildcats team all over again, they know how to bring the humor. Adding the K-9 thread to storyline, just added to my interest.

I love to look for debut authors, and Ms.Abbott has done a phenomenal job with Crossroads of love. There are twists, secrets, and a second chance for Lena and Gavin.

Lena has been hurt, and trust is hard for her. Gavin had made his choice, but driven away to the city by someone he trusted. Aaron, Gavin’s brother who has passed, is the golden child in the family. As layers are uncovered, we discover another story, the truth.

If you love small town, slow burn, a tad forbidden, with complications galore, pick up this book, you will not be disappointed. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

This story will get you in the feels. There are trigger warnings, pay attention if you need to, but they are essential to this story.

Merritt is finally in a good place but needs to return to Hope Valley for her nephew. Tristan knows of her history, and suggests they live with him. The growth of Merritt, her found strength, and learning to trust with Tristan. Her confidence from the support of her found family. Tristan knows of his attraction, but his protectiveness, and patience levels up his swoon worthiness.

I have loved every character we have met so far in this series. I am hopeful I guessed right for our next couple, but if wrong, I know I will enjoy the story. I cannot wait to return to Hope Valley.

A quick fun read, a great escape story for my busy week.

Gabe has found out he is a father!  Being a professional hockey player in season, he needs a nanny yesterday.  The whole unexpected situation has him off kilter.

Cassie is moving to be closer to her brother.  She arrives a day early and stays at a hotel, she meets a man at the bar, they have an amazing night.

A teammate recommends his sister as a nanny to Gabe, and in walks Cassie.  The story moves fast, and hard to put down.  A great start and I am looking forward to more!

A great small town read, first loves, and found family.

I love the role mental health plays in the story; it is accurately represented with grace and reality. Check the trigger warning if you need to.

I experienced many emotions while reading, and my heart did take a beating at times, but the journey was worth it. Jasper and Avery have a second chance, and we get their full story via flashbacks. What started as young summer love but never really went away. The chemistry is there, and the banter is on point. Will this be their time?

We are back in Chicago for more Falcons hockey. Conor and Eloise have a fun story, I like the friendship that formed first. They just like being in each other's orbit. Eloise is ready to walk down the aisle, and the night of her bachelorette party, many things have her questioning her decision, and one comment from a stranger about being first, sticks with her.

My favorite scene in the book is the two of them in the bookstore.

Will the runaway bride and the hockey player figure it out? Their friends have their own opinions, what is yours?

Easily my new favorite to date. I loved Wren, Cruz, and Archer! An MC romance that is a little more romance, suspense, and MC, and we get a little of the past from Stone Riders and Rake Forge.
A small town, single mom, neighbors, he falls first, with plenty of swoon.

Archer and Wren are a little more alike than she lets on. He is smitten immediately, and she wants distance from him. She is a single mom, and wants no part in his world. She works hard to provide for her son. Archers younger brother is Cruz’s age, keeping them tethered, as the boys are friends and classmates.

The story reads quickly; there are twists and turns, tension, and angst! This book is a standalone, but I want to see more of these characters.
