Did not finish book. Stopped at 70%.
interesting concept but completely lacked any world building.
characters were too busy shagging eachover to properly explain to reader wtf is going on and why.

+ TRIGGER WARNING: rape
fmc consents but mmc thinks she hasn’t - he intended to rape her and i think all rapists should burn in hell so fuck that dude and fuck this book

Fucking shit.

Misogyny galore.
The fmc was so unbelievably stupid and irritating.
The romance was shit.
She flip flopped her emotions every chapter.
She cheated on the mmc, and considered it multiple times before too.
They then maned their children the names she picked for her kids with her ex (who she cheated on the mmc with)
Barely any plot.
Time skips and stupid ass epilogue story line that missed out the most interesting part if the book (her father trying to kill her mum and then being  arrested omg what).
Pregnancy trope.
The mmc is 30 and the fmc is a teenager.
The whole thing was just gross tbh

Disappointing.

Had so much potential but ended up so convoluted and messy. The parts that were supposed to be impactful felt silly. The wrap up was anti climactic, the ‘plot twists’ were rushed, and so much of the interesting storylines at earlier points were just jaggedly cut off and tied up.

Big buffoonery.

Holy shit this was so pretty.

Literally everything everyone said about it…WRONG.
Of course with the disclaimer - in my opinion.
BUT OMG YOU WERE ALL SO WRONG.

I had no trouble with the pacing.
I didn’t find it boring.
Tbh i think if you don’t struggle with fantasy (not romantacy! just good old fantasy) you’ll also find the reviews of this book all wrong.

The POV changes were so interesting, everything flowed so nicely. The story moved at a great speed.

Actually my criticism is that the ending was too fast. The part everyone else enjoyed the most was probably my least favourite.

I wish we got more a descriptive fight, I wish it was dragged out more with that beautiful writing. The fighting could’ve been so poetic to match the rest of the story but it fell a little flat compared to the delicious chunky description in the rest of the book.

Also I wish there was an additional glossary for characters cos damn i really had to smack my brain cells together to not mix people up. Theres so many characters, and every one of them has 2/3/4 names each, regularly used. Characters popped in and it and some had the same names so tbh taking notes might have been a good idea.

Overall.
I was thoroughly intrigued throughout. I’m excited to read more.
Really beautifully written, fresh story.
