I respect what it was trying to do.
It was predictable in places, ( i am good at guessing plot twists so take my opinion on predictable with a punch of salt ) but after the first ‘twist’ the rest were pretty much the same.

The story definitely picked up around half way but it was easy to move through the whole time, could easily be finished in one sitting.

The ending was very anticlimactic however. For so much build up, the reveal and the aftermath were a couple of quick chapters that ended very abruptly and that was it. Tied in a bow and done with.

The concept had so much potential but the execution wasn’t as good as it could’ve been.

If i took a shot every time they mentioned
 1) how tiny the girl was
2) how rugby was the boys whole life….I’D BE FUCKING DEAD.
Wish that i did and it killed me so i wouldn’t have to go read the next one

Okay but actually, who put crack in the book? I hated it, all of it, so many stupid ass tropes like word for word ‘i’m not like other girls’ and ‘this isn’t you look at me’. And yeah i’m twisting it a bit for the second one but genuinely it actually says the first quote. SOMEHOW I KEPT READING THO. WHY??? it was 800 pages of shit and i devoured it. i was transported back to being 11 years old and reading wattpad all night before school. IDK what kinda drugs chloe walsh baked into these pages but oml. I finished it seconds ago and i already bought book 2. Round up: fucking shit let’s be honest but a massive satisfying clean shit. This book is the literally definition of me wiping my arse and there’s nothing on the toilet paper

Not only was the second book good, rare for books let’s be real. It OUTDID the first. The only bad thing about this is the reading slump i’m now gonna be in.

Such an interesting story, beautiful writing and you get to make a really strong connection to the characters, not even just the FMC and MMC.
It was so exciting to finally pick up something that makes you want to keep reading. I was fully prepared to swap hours of sleep for more.

The only criticism i have is for a bunch of supposedly intelligent characters, they sure found themselves in some dumb situations (hint hint: the drinks, could see that coming from a mile off)  they all collectively lost brain cells for the plot a couple times which really stood out as a let down to the rest of the story, because the rest was so good.

The beginning was fine. Boring, predictable but kinda sweet. Just fine. Until everyone lost their fucking mind. The author pulled the big 3rd act conflict completely out of her ass, it was the most dramatic ass shit and then when it was finally resolved  it just KEPT GOING. DIDN’T FUCKING END.

such a fun read. the mystery was a little predictable but the pacing was good and the story itself was entertaining. there’s definitely some room for improvement, the writing style didn’t match the gothic vibes of the book a good portion of the time and occasionally it would feel a little juvenile with the main character feeling younger than she is and the dialogue being a tad stiff (sometimes bordering cringe)
