Elsie Silver has done it again. Everything you love about a steamy romcom is wrapped up in this book and I think that’s all I need to say about that. Book two can’t come any sooner.

Fire Weather: A True Story from a Hotter World by John Vaillant

While this is not a fun or easy book to read, it is important. The effects of climate change are happening in real time and this is one of the many effects of it. Wildfires. Which are only getting bigger, hotter and scarier. This should be recommended reading for everyone, but especially my fellow Canadians. This was excellently paced, well researched, and easy to understand even with science-y terms.

I really liked this book. This magic system is so neat and different than any I’ve read. I think it was relatively well paced, and the character growth for some of the main characters was really good. I’m looking forward to reading the other two books to see what happens in the rest of this story.

Very much enjoyed this last book of the series. A grumpy brooding mountain man and a young girl with big ambitions is a good combo! There is a decent age gap in this book tho but I don’t think it’s creepy.

I love Elsie’s books and her male main characters and this one was no different. She writes her characters so well. The growth they have in this book is great.

I truly love this series. The humour. The sarcasm. The action. It’s all so great. What a lovely storyline too.

My fav book so far in this series. A little bit darker, some twists and turns. Didn’t see some of the plot twists coming, at least they weren’t super predictable for me. And of course. Murderbot is always hilariously sarcastic lol.

Okay, normally I do not like romcom books with kids in them but this one is a rare exception. What a beautiful story of so much love, and personal growth and lots of good spicy scenes too.
Also, who wouldn’t want a Kai for themselves?
