I loved this story and brought it everywhere with me until I was finally finished. Nothing bad to say about these books other than I definitely could have used more time in the love stories (and the much anticipated spicy scenes I was left wanting a bit more detail on... more of a fade to black type of series). Overall some of my favorite reads of thd year despite the slow beginning.

At first I doubted my choice in picking this book because it took me well into 60 pages to actually start to enjoy this and understand the very unique magic system (and poetry). But once it got rolling and the romance started up (slow burn yessss) I ended up loving it and immediately picked up book 2 to dive straight into that once I finished.

I loved this book - the characters were immediately loveable, the story moved along quickly. There wasn't a lot of miscommunication and the FMC was strong and courageous - I couldn't find many faults. Looking forward to book 2.

I really struggled to get in to and like this book... The "action" is there from the very beginning, but I had a hard time getting over what felt like rudimentary writing and flimsy plot lines. I bought all 3 books at once, so maybe I'll give this another go down the road to inspire me to read the last 2, but not particularly on my priority list.
