Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea by Chelsea Handler
5.0
Chelsea is completely ridiculous and that's why I love her. This book is about more than just her sex life, she tells stories about her trip to London where she dines in the dark (I nearly peed my pants!), a story about a mini-Chelsea who was a swindler, and a lot of stories about her equally ridiculous father.
I loved this book!!

4th of July by James Patterson

This fourth book in the Woman's Murder Club was enjoyable and kept me engaged but it was different from all the other books.
Lindsey Boxer finds herself on trial for a wrongful death charge so she heads a few towns over to relax at her sisters house while her sister is out of town. Lindsey is not the kind of person who knows how to relax so she finds herself in the middle of a serial killer spree.
Overall, I enjoyed the story and will move on to the 5th book soon!

The Best Is Yet to Come by Anne Mazer

This was a cute story about a girl, Abby, who decides to take the summer off. No plans for her normally over scheduled days. When her mom's friend comes to stay Abby finds her summer turning into something she was not expecting.
Heidi, my 7 year old, picked this book because it says it's #1 and she wanted to start at the beginning so she knew who was who. I found the character development to be very weak so I did a quick amazon search and learned this was book 1 in the summer series and something like book 25 overall. With this information I am able to forgive the poor character development!
Heidi loved the book and I enjoyed reading it with her. I recommend this to anyone first grade and up.

Oh, Jen. You are just too much. But in a good way! Your sixth memoir is tied for favorite with your first on my list!
Clementine by Sara Pennypacker
5.0
My 7 year old daughter and I read Clementine together over the last week and we loved it!
Clementine is an 8 year old girl who is struggling with her relationship with her best friend and also helping her dad fight The Great Pigeon War.
My daughter enjoyed this story because Clementine is relateable, funny, and caring. She liked to see that Clementine was a lot like her and the story helped her understand that she is not the only girl who has these feelings.
I liked the story because unlike some other books for this age range, Clementine is a good kid with some attention issues, not naughty and mischievous. I also really enjoyed the lesson and found the book to be well written for this age group.
I recommend this book to children from 6 to 10 and their moms!
