part 1 is excruciating long and repetitive. 50 pages would be more than enough to get the message sent, and since later you end up getting another long explanation on the second part, more mystery about the how at the beginning would have made everything more interesting.

one of those books were you just swear that it will end up in the most cynic way possible and then you are surprised by how hopeful the ending is

omg her the writing is so descriptive and in some aspects reminded me of joan didon’s!! the way she explores women’s dynamics / relationships (principally with other women), and traumas is so well done and interesting; i will definitely read more of her work in the future

my favorite type of book: no plot, just characters thinking, revisiting old memories, and living their lives. i would have loved if she had done a book of short stories telling with the side characters such as debora and kay. how amazing would that be?
