queer existence !!!! queer joy !!!!! ahhhhhh !!!!!!!!!

i loved this so so so much !!!!

eddie is the biggest sweetheart ever, and mark is too in his own cranky way, and i absolutely loved them both, together and as their own characters.

it was very interesting to read mark's progress with grief and how it's not linear progress. and having to undone years of secrecy and erasing oneself for their own safety.

eddie, i would die for that man. from the page he first appeared on, i was ready to lay my life out for him. he is such an endearingly kind character that you just can not help but absolutely adore him. from start to finish. the long rants and wanting to make people he cares about happy and safe ughhhh

and those two together?? the gradial friendship, the tension, talking about bad and goos books over the phone and eating milkshake and crying together over jars of cocktail cherries. they are perfect for each other.

author for sure has put lots of research in this book, both on the sport and timeline it is set in, and i appreciate that so much.

and like in the first book, absolutely loved loved loved to see queer joy !! anqueer existence in the 1950s. carving as much space as they could for themselves and being happy. it's all i ever wanted to see.

while i do think i liked the first book a smidge more, this was absolutely another beautiful book by cat sebastian and definitely a 5 star read for me.

do i even have words for this book???? do i?????

i still can't believe this is a reality and that we actually got a continuation for the aftg universe and jean's story.

writing is so good, and nora still has that talent on absolutely wrecking your heart with some scenes.

jean....my poor poor baby he has been through so much, and every little new information we got of his time spent in the nest made me nauseous. and yet he is still protecting them and caring for them after everything...and !!! fanon jean is so close to canon. i was shocked !! fandom really got that good. but we must protect him at all costs !! he needs to be happy and healed from all his trauma (as much as he can be). he deserves it.

jeremy....my sunshine boyyyyyy god i love him so much he is so endearing and understanding and kind and i just love him. though fandom jeremy was completely miss on the canon but i think i love canon one more :")) the little bits and pieces of his life and past that we got were so intriguing i cant wait to see what actually happened there and to unravel his side of the story a little bit more. he also needs to be protected at all cost. thank you very much.

jean and jeremy???? oh i cannot wait to see how that evolves bc what ive seen so far is so so good and i love the little banters and looking out for each other and the chin grabs. i love themmmmmmm

the trojans are officially all adopted by me (expect you, lucas, you're on my shit list), especially lalia and cat, those are MOTHERS !!!!!!!! i love how they've come together to support jean and how close they actually are, and just the little moments with them together were everything. and i absolutely loved cat taking jean on the bike ride. that means the world.

renee !!!! she truly is a saint !!!! she was such an icon for getting jean out of the nest and doing what she did. and she remains kind and beautiful and understanding, and i just love her.

we got jean canonically being in love with kevin, but at what cost....at what cost... those two are so intertwined together, and yet not at all, it's making me dizzy.

and last but not least, neil.......neil neil neil neil neil.
if i already didn't love him as much as i do, this book would have just cemented that fact in for me. he was so protective of jean and wanted to truly find the best possible option for him to live his life as he wanted. and his unhinged personality and snarky remarks and blue eyes and smile still make me go absolutely insane and i love him so dearly, i don't think anyone will come close. (and yes, that one quote about him and andrew absolutely gutted me. i will be needing 5 years to recover from that)

overall, it is such a good and interesting book. writing is truly really good, and story flew nicely. i can't wait for the next book bc i will be thinking about this one until it's out.

she has done it again !!!!!

i enjoyed the first book so so much and this one even more maybe????

it's beyond refreshing to read a romance book that has grown up character actually act grown up and mature (i know, you'd think its a norm but trust me, its not).

both wes and ada are flawed characters who have their problems, but when it came to them they actually communicated them through, and even with ada's fear of commitment and belonging hitting in the end, it lasted 5 minutes because imagine that, she stopped, thought about it, and came to a decision that she actually wanted. i absolutely loved her and could relate to her quite a bit.
she matured so much in this book and came to peace with herself and where she stood in her life and people around her and it was so refreshing to read. and she has tattoos. and is hot. banger if you ask me.

and wes....i adore him. i know the bar is in hell but he is so so good. respectful, kind, thoughtful, hardworking, loving, cute, generous, depressed, has middle child syndrome and beyond hot? he is the cowboy dream if you ask me :D

and i have to mention cam....when i read the description of her when he first showed up.....i kinda gasped...... hot busines  woman....and then later on when dusty showed up.....could say i had the same reaction to him.... so with that, those two better get their own book because trust me i need that power hot couple to be real and i already have some theories.

but seriously, this was such a refreshing read and i absolutely loved it. writing was good, pave was good, word building was good, characters amazing.

cannot wait to read gus and teddy's book because that sneak peak has me already laughing.

yuck
