2.5 max, maybe
idk??
we love diverse books with black sapphics and fat representation, but this book just didn't deliver besides that??
as an avid lover of fake dating trope, this was very, very boring? and i thought it was gonna be interesting and dramatic with it being a reality show, but i guess i was wrong.
kris spoke like the biggest fuckboy ever 😠and i just couldn't connect to the character at all, they felt very shallow and maybe its also bc the writing felt like that too?? idk how to explain it
also, ive read the reviews and kinda weird that you have spanish speaking characters in your book and no one actually proofread the spanish speaking parts because people are saying there are lots of mistakes 💀
anyways giving this 2 stars for the diversity and beautiful ladies, the few sweet moments that were cute and the few times i laughed out at woman's
breasts and ass being described like "round globes" and during sex scene too.

heartwrenching read that was really historically accurate to my knowledge. loved it
this made 0 sense. or at least the romance part. couldn't connect to the characters at all bc there was little about them, their relationship progress was nonexistent it just went from one kiss and one fuck to suddenly being in love and dying for one another and i hated that. its a no for me
big yikes. beyonr corny writing and the fact that its set in hs is disturbing to me
didnt like the fact that one was 19yo and the other 26yo and some parts of dynamics bothered me too but too lazy to put my thoughts into words
still not sure which one i liked more first or second book but this one was another good one albeit not that plot and action heavy as the first one
not only was it written good with good romance and characters that had some depth but it also had a hell of an interesting plot. i loved it

i can not stress enough how much i loved this book.
5 stars isn't enough. I'm beyond emotional and touched and in my feelings about it.
the character depth, the slow progression of their relationship and feelings, and the communication and willingness to make things work despite the world going against them and doing all that filled with fear but being incredibly brave.
and it's more than a romance book. it's about queer people trying to make a space for themselves in a time that is so against it. it's about trying your best to fit in the mould society created for you and knowing you never will. it's about careful moulding space for yourself where you can be who you are. love who you are. it's saying we existed, we loved, we persevered. always.
and the author did such a lovely job. did their research too to make the story more authentic.
and i will now cry listening to "You Send Me" by Aretha Franklin for the rest of my life.
i better wrap this up before it turns into an even bigger word vomit because i can't even find the correct words to express my thoughts. just 10/10 book.

The possibility of being remembered, however, alarms me —it is not from the wish for erasure, but the fear that people’s memories will erase something essential. Expectations met and unmet, interpretations sensible and skewed, understanding granted or withheld, scrutiny out of kindness and malevolence—all these require one to actively accommodate others’ memories. Why not turn away from such intricacy? The less I offer you something to remember, the better I can remember you.
