What can you do when a the prospect of an heavenly week turns out to be your worse nightmare? This thriller captivates us and keeps us guessing!
Claire goes to this vacation with her husband and 4 friends, and trough the week we can see through her perspective things going sour and people are dying.
We also have some perspective to backgroud of the 'annonimous', who we believe is responsible for the killings. We only discover who it is in the end!
I really enjoyed the story and was glued to my kobo screen to see what happended next. Some turns I can say I predicted but the main twist at the end?? Well, I can trully say I did not see that one coming!
Emily is an analyst and is clearly unhappy with her work, but it gives her stability. And she clearly values that because of past experiences. So she gets by and gets stuff done.
When she is not given the promotion she was promised and this spot is taken by Beck, her world is shaken and she starts to question her choices. Then she finds out that her sister started a new business with her passion, so after the anger, she agrees to help her sister and take her place so she can save her business. Only problem? Beck is the client's brother and knows she is lying and pretending to be her sister. But, even though they are enemies and nemesis at work he keeps her secret. And later, he needs a favor and asks her to fake date him to his sister's wedding party.
Thay pick on each other and tease one another and discover that they enjoy their interactions, even if it was not supposed to. They start having feelings and even though they both screw up, they find a way to each other.
I laughed, cried, yelled and loved this story!!
I know that when I like a book I usually can't put it down, and guess what?! I binged this one in a few hours because I really liked it. It helped that it has several of my favorite tropes, but the story, the characters, the twists were very good. And the banter beteween them? It was priceless!
This is what a very good rom-com looks like!
What a debut! π₯³
Stella is an independent woman who is used to doit all by herself, without needing anywone's help. She believes it makes her stronger to be like that (even if through our story she realises the opposite really!). And she has to deppend on her ex's best friend to complete a bucket list left for her to get her inheritance. Ethan is a grumpy guy (to those who do not know him) and is in love with Stella, but since she is off limits it's easier to play the hating game.
I kept reading and reading rooting for them to realise that they were not a mistake! They were the real deal, and made for one another, but this story has some good angsty feelings, to make us suffer a little more! π€
This story makes us wonder if some things in life have a timing for them to happen. These two were clearly meant to be, but life and some miscomunications got in the way, and then it takes a lot of pining to get to their HEA but they surely get there..
I personally adored Ethan. All tough on the outside and gooye on the inside, with a heart of gold. I'm picturing in my head that scene where he has Nessie in his big hands.. the though of a big guy with a tiny kitten.. π₯°π
Even though we has feelings for her first he respects her, and also tries to respect his best friend by not acting apon it. But love appens, and I'm glad it did, because they were good for one another.
Trey is a playboy who doesn't believe in relationships, and lives from hook up to the next. Until Rylee! He doesn't understand at first, but all he thinks about is her and all he wants is to be with her. And he persues it! After some time even him can't say that he wants more.
Rylee doesn't want a relationship. The last one left her mending for herself and others, after being lied to. But Trey is persistent and funny and caring. And after she knows she is letting her walls down.
Then comes the unexpected pregnancy news, and I have to admit that both of them handled that pretty well. I was expecting a little more drama on that note π€
I really liked both main characters and the side ones too. They were relatable and funny. I really want to read Dessa's story next. But... I wonder what will be Jake's.. he got me intrigued.. π«£
I absolutly recommend this one!
Clare and Micah have their interesting meet-cute the day she moves in his neighborhood. Things don't start the friendly way they are supposed to, until Micah gets an ultimatum and gets kind of desperate for help. Once she is in his dept, Clare accepts to help him, by engaging in a fake relationship to help his son.
I loved how she connected with his little boy, and immediatly begun to love him. Even before she fell for Micah.
The fake part of the relationship quicky dissolved and all the real fellings came to life. At the begining, they tried to dennied them, both for professional and personal reaskns, but then... love was indeed stronger (even than blackmail), and they fought and riscked it all to be with one another.
A broken family was mended and grew!
This was such a nice read. I really enjoyed it.
I've been counting the days so I could read Frank and Twyla's story from the moment I ended The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy. I loved this world and it's characters, so when I was given the opportunity by Netgalley and Orbit books to have an ARC I was over the moon (and it took me a while to get my feet back on Earth)!
This story introduce us to two characters who are in their fifties, and are living their daily life as best they can. They are parents, and grandparents, have full time jobs (as Tamria marshals) and have each other as best friends! Their relationship is easy, lovable and priceless.
In this book we have the story told in Twyla's perspective only (and in my opinion I believe Frank's POV would add so much.. I wanted to read his thoughs also. To know what the grumpy guy was thinking would have been priceless)!
In this book we can see how sometimes being a mom, a grandmother and wife translated for Twyla as being on the shelf an secondary. Through the book she was reminded that she was not also those things but she rediscovered herself. She found out what it was not only to live for other people but also for herself.
It was a slow burn but when they ignite it all burns!
In between our romance we have some very cute Dragons!
I missed a little bit of the dark humor we saw in Hart's and Mercy's story, but it doesn't changes the fact that it's a pretty good book.
I hope this world continues to grow!
WeΔΊl, the story started as true enemies to lovers, but in a flash they became frenemies with benefits and with a fake engagement in the mix.
At first it seemed kind of fast, but as the story developed I understood why it happened that way!
In this book, Zane needs a wife to get his inheritance. Kelsey needs gossip to maintain her job. They begin a fake marriage, but all the while, she hides her motives from him.
The problem is that she starts getting attached to him, to his friends, to his family and his life, and all she thought she could do suddenly becomes blurry and confusing.
A LOT of secrets come to the surface, and forces them to make hard decisions.
Their interaction was full on banter as we all enjoy!!
Ohh, and I really loved the pet name π¦ and all the lion king references.

Lucy is driven and goal oriented and very stubborn. She is also very serious about taking care of the people she loves. When she sets her mind into something she doesn't stop until she gets it done. Until Adam shows up, and she is no longer the full time and only organizer of the Town Summer Festival.
What do you do when all you've ever known was how do do things on your own, and then suddenly you don't have to? You even have help, a partnership, a friend..
When you start to realize that you also can live and try to meet your goals at the same time, because someone has your back, and cares to help you! Well, Lucy sure found it!
In the begining she resented it, but then, gradually all their banter became normal, and she started enjoying it and also missing and wanting it! Wanting him!
But, as it can happen to some overthinkers, the preconcetions and previous assumptions can block them from going forward and enjoy what is right in front of them. Even if it' the most amazing thing / person that ever happened to you!
Lucy had to learn how to adapt, how to live and also how to love.
Adam made it all a little easier. He was such a sweetheart!
I got through the book in under a day, and I didn't want to leave this sweet and perky small town and it's residents! The side characters were so present and lovable and funny, that I can't wait for their story also!
Olivia and Victor next, pleaseeeeee π€π€π€
It was my firs book read by Rebecca Jo Jackson, but I can garantee that it won't be the last! I'm here for all the next ones!
It tells Molly's story, from her kidnapping to how she survived and learned to live with her traumas and eventually found her HEA. Cage was smitten by her since they met, and got all those protective vibes we all adore.
Her main strength was fighting with all her might for her sister Layla, and pushing all boundaries to keep her safe and happy.
Even being considered a dark book, I was expecting something along the lines of Haunting Adeline and found it a lot lighter.
Check the TW though.
Ohhh, and I really kiked the pig's names π€
This was my first read by Sarah ready and I can definitely say that it won't be the last!!
After a one night stand, Henry and Serena had totally opposite reactions to their affair. To Henry it was love at first sight. To serena was a disaster waiting to happen.
They are quite opposites when it comes to love. Henry gives in to it. Serena is complettly affraid of falling and losing herself in the process.
It all complicates when, with a bit of magic (and physics) they swap into each others bodies and are forced to live the other's lifes.
They learn to live life with a new perspective, and realise that maybe their previous view on life had something missing.
Henry was such a sweet guy! I ended up wanting to hug him trough all the book. Serena's character grew a lot through the book.
This story made me laugh, made me cry and think a lot about perspectives. Maybe sometimes we really need to be in each other's places to better understand one another and to mainly better understand ourselves.
