This was a very highly anticipated read for me. I adored the descriptions of Baltimore sprinkled throughout the story. You can tell B.K. loves the city and she put so much care into describing our setting which helped me feel at home in a way. Aiden did do sweet things for Lucie but he was VERY closed off until the end of our story. Like girl, go to therapy or something omg! There was a good amount of cheesy-ness which hit for me sometimes and did not other times. I loved the side characters, they added some wit and heart that bumped this rating up from a 3. It is hard for me to pinpoint exactly why this did not 100% work for me, but I will read the next book(s) series.

I picked this up on a whim at an Indie bookstore near me. I ate this book up! I read this within one day and couldn't put it down. It gave fan fiction in the BEST way! It was definitely insta-love as it takes place within a 10 day vacation but it was done well, so I believed it. Laurel and her roommate Taylor's friendship was so adorable and added so much to the story for me. Being a debut novel, I was pleasantly surprised! It will not be for everyone but it certainly was for me. I cannot wait to see what Sydney Bolen writes next!
A cute Valentine's Day read! This was a short story so it's hard to complain about certain things since there is not much time to develop the plot, characters, etc. I did like our guy, though Seth was a tough name to get behind, sorry to any Seths out there. He was caring and a little nerdy, so I loved that. Quick, cheesy, with some heart, that's all I can ask for. I will say, this kind of reminded me of old-school Abby Jimenez in some aspects, and not in a good way.
I don't have much to say about this one, it was just fine. It was originally just a Target Exclusive bonus chapter so there is not much to it. I mostly read it to read the preview for Abby's next book at the end.
This book could've been much shorter. I felt like we were going in circles with no end in sight for 75% of this book. The first 20% was intriguing, I was thinking to myself 'Why did so many people hate this one???". But once I got more into it I figured out why. I did guess the twist at the end very easily which I try to not do since it makes the twists less fun. I did read it over a weekend, otherwise, this could've easily put me in a slump. Just glad it is over, but I am excited for the last book in the trilogy.
This might be my favorite Ali Hazelwood book yet! People have their complaints about this book, and it certainly is not for everyone but wow was it for me. I went back and forth between reading this physically and via audiobook. Let me say the audiobook for this is fantastic, it is a duet so I highly recommend listening. Scarlett and Lucas were so great together and the kink exploration was perfect for a beginner to the sub-genre, like myself. I would go so far as to say it was a little tame, though it made sense for our characters. I don't know if this is a spoiler, but the Olive and Adam cameos in this one made me so giddy. I couldn't stop smiling every time they were mentioned. I can't wait to see what Ali writes next, she keeps getting better and better imo!
Edit: At first, I gave it 4.5 stars but I keep thinking about it so 5 stars it is!

I picked this book up at a local author signing and enjoyed it! Our characters had some depth and past traumas that made them feel realistic. I loved that Bruce cared so deeply for his younger sister who he is a guardian for, it was sweet. Nikki was new in town and I liked seeing her find new friends outside of Bruce. Overall it was good, just a little forgettable for me. I would read more from Claire Cain.
This was such a fun and goofy read! The fact that this is a Loch Ness monster shifter romance is crazy, I was not going to read it when I originally heard about it, but I decided to give it a go. I mostly listened to this via audiobook and I enjoyed that experience. As this takes place in Scotland I liked having the accents and pronunciations for a more immersive reading experience. I did not think there would be much plot with this one, I thought it would be more spice, but it had a nice mix between the two imo. I liked unraveling the secrets of the past with our main characters and learning more about the history as we went along. The setting was described in wonderful detail which added to the immersion for me. I cannot explain exactly what I loved so much about this book but it was fun and silly and I ate it up within a few days. This was great for monster romance newbies, like myself!
