The narrator sounds hoarse and congested. The old English is horrible and inaccurate. The story went too far in details about things that didn’t seem needed and not detailed enough in others. The audio skips and repeats a sentence several times. I rated it 2.75 because it’s connected in a series and I’m not sure how this story plays into the last book- maybe the 3rd book will help.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 61%.
The FMC had several conflicts happening at the same time. Which is. It unusual and can work when blended and developed. Each layer seemed to have a life of its own- they could have  been a perfect  segue for plots in a multibook  series. All of the jumping from one angle to the next made the book feel scattered and unfocused .

Main characters are infuriating but somehow the book still draws you in. I almost DNF because of how maddening they are to me but I realized that was probably signs of a well written book. For that, it gets 3.25
