I enjoyed this one more than the first, it felt like the plot lines are a bit more defined, but I'm still not feeling super hooked.
This. Book. Is. PERFECT.
I loved every second of this, it was a perfect blend of history, politics, love, hilarity, friendship, beautifully inspiring and uplifting narratives and I just absolutely adored this whole story.
This book reached in and touched my soul, it was so relevant to our day and age and so beautiful, perfectly comparing history to our day and age, talking about so many issues with people and life and just written so damn well.
I finished it during my break at work and it was a s t r u g g l e to not burst into happy tears during this. It was a political love story that surprisingly moved me so much, the hope and the solidarity, the message of acceptance and historical change and just making a better world was poignant and this is a story everyone should experience.
10/10, one of my favorite books ever.

This was a lot of fun!! Great art, cool characters, suspenseful and badass story telling. I loved it and I hope they make more!!
This was a really really great read, I loved it. Especially as someone who hasnt read any Catwoman but loves the character, this was a wonderful story that was easy to follow and a good origin story.
I cried like a baby at one scene though, let me just say there is a bit of a trigger warning on this one.

I loved this book! I hadn't been super crazy about starting this one because I hadn't really connected with the new characters quite yet. I thoroughly enjoyed Matthew in his short story, as well as Anna but they had been the only characters (besides those from the other series') that I had been looking forward to.
But honestly it didn't take me long at all to get sucked in! As it usually happens with Cassie's books. I loved the whole ride for this one, I flew through the pages very quickly. I loved the whole set up to this book, it felt like the plot wasn't quite as "Huge-Bad-Guy-With-Bad-Plans" kind of a plot, a lot of it was actually more character driven! And I loved that, my favorite thing about these books are the characters! Not that there wasn't a big bad and a shadowhunter type of plot. It just felt much more subtle, a more cunning background type of plot. I really loved that, it felt a bit different from the past books. It seems to be gearing up for the big bad kind of plot though, but Cassie can do them well so I am very much looking forward to future books!
I also have to say the dialogue and interpersonal relationships was so on point in this book. You can tell by my almost 200 highlights for this book!

I do think she has a tendency to rely on the age old love triangle type of trope. She usually, ever since TMI, mixes it up pretty well. Different reasons and situations that bring them about, and the one in this book /was/ pretty cool given the new twists she put in with it. And the trope has led to a very very fun new situation for the future and I am excited about that. Though I had kind of wished she'd step away from that particular quote. Regardless of those thoughts, I still really enjoyed this book and will be immediately consuming the new one when it's out!!

This is such an adorable and spooky little book, I loved every second of this! As someone who loves a dark and creepy aesthetic, this book is pure fun. And the illustrations are gorgeous! The little rhymes are so cute and really well written. If you have a kid that likes strange and unusual things, or if you yourself enjoy them, this little gem is perfect and one of a kind.
I had high hopes for this book as a huge fan of Russian culture and badass women, but I was slightly disappointed. Part of that is I am already not a huge fan of Historical fiction, unless it's done in a way that centers other story aspects that I love I usually don't care for them. This book leaned into the history more than I cared for and I know that colored my opinion, though I know for others that could still make for a great story.
The main character also had more of a subtle rebel and mischievous way about her, and I had been hoping for more obvious forms of strength from her. That paired with the very tragic setting for more than half the book led to me being underwhelmed.
This was still a well written book and I'm sure many others would find these qualities enjoyable, it just wasn't quite my style or the story I'd been hoping for.

AHHHHHHHHHHH I am once again reduced to Matthew Fairchild trash and also cursing the fact that I love Cassie love triangles so much??
