Really loved this. It felt like a love story in the way that an Emily Henry or Abby Jimenez book feels like a love story. Obviously a romance but in that lit ficy way.  Idk. I just really enjoyed it from beginning to end. Great characters. Great build. Believable romance.

Not rating 5 stars because while I loved it, it didn’t quite tug at my heart in that fully emotionally invested sort of way.

But still totally solid and I highly recommend it

Very meh. Narration was fine. Story was…bleh. Never a nail biter. Didn’t get attached to the characters. Just very meh.

Not my fave Danielle Garrett book, but the series has potential. So long as Orion/Ryan is in future books, I think I’d continue to read about the adventures of Ms. Rosella.

Story:2 stars
narration: 5 stars

But the narration doesn’t make up for the story. Not only is it poorly developed, but the motive behind the killer is super weak. I also didn’t like that the victim was a child, and there was too much detail into what happened.

It’s sad though because this has all the makings of a good thriller. It def was too short. And had the choice of victim(s) and/or motive been fleshed out more, it could have been good.

Rough first half. Def not my fave LK. Redemption in the last half at least.

Liked this one a lot! Even though it was set in America. 🤣

Great characters. And I love Ms Mary Jane Wells as the narrator. Still my #1!

4 soft stars. Considered rating 3.5-3.75 but leaving at 4.

Solid mystery with little side plots/tidbits that were wrapped up nicely at the end.

The main character was flawed but likable, and I’m glad we got to root for her.

Overall, it’s a good mystery that kept me questioning what I thought I knew. Not a jaw dropper, but solid.

And while I did enjoy it overall, I think it could have been a 5 star read had it moved a little faster or…idk just been a bit…more…something.

I will say that I thought it was going to be super creepy. And it kind of was. But the way it was written didn’t keep me up at night.

Recommend overall.

Absolutely adored this precious precious book! It was just the cozy Christmas mystery I needed to wrap up this lovely Christmas Day.

Ethan and Maggie are fantastic. I loved how their relationship developed in a rather healthy way all things considered. The mystery was good too! I didn’t let myself overthink it so I could just enjoy and I’m glad I did.

Highly recommend.

There were parts of this book I thought were really good and worked really well. Others fell flat or dragged a bit imo. Idk. I started off pretty into it. Unfortunately, it just didn’t quite leave me that excited feeling after having finished a good book. I will say much of it was 4 stars. Part 3 was the best of the five parts for sure. Ultimately, I must round down to 3 stars because there was enough I didn’t like to give me a more neutral feeling on the book. So a neutral to like 3 stars.

This was a really cute follow up to the series. I loved Tamsin and Bowen as characters. Probably my fave characters of the series. However, time travel plots are always a headaches and this one just wasn’t well-explained. And while I absolutely adore Mary Jane Wells as a narrator, I was confused when she did welsh accents for the first two leading ladies of the series. I could be mistaken as it’s been some time since I’ve read them (and I read those with my eyes not ears), but I’m pretty sure they’re American.  Slight thing in all.

But again. Absolutely loved these two and loved that the story was set around Christmas/yuke. Very fun.
