even though it was sad, to say the least, i couldn’t stop reading this book. i tried moving on with my life but could not stop thinking of channel’s story. her hability in storytelling and narration of the audiobook are so beautiful, easily the most beautiful of such i have ever read. i really, really hope she continues on writing and creating beyond her memoir. really excited to see her bloom even more.

so fucking weird. so fucking real. a perfect reading of what it is like to live in post-capitalist society in so many aspects — and, for such a good reading of our society as a whole, it still felt like such a intimate reading of it all, along side the descriptions of her relationship with men, her colleagues, her mom, her kid.
also, i know it’s not the best to compare women but this is so much better than whatever m*rgaret atw**d has been trying to do. @ publishers pls start gatekeeping dystopias to bipoc

me, an intelectual: this book captures so well the desperation of realizing how much we need love in so many shapes and forms and how unbearable life can seem when you can’t find the type of love you need anywhere. the juxtaposition between this gut-wrenching fear of dying alone and the gut-wrenching feeling of falling in love again and feeling you’d do anything for this person. you would die for this person, because not even death is scary when compared with this love.

also me: straight women are so fucking crazy they’ll fuck a fish if it treats them well enough
