While the audio narrators did an amazing job, the story itself was lack luster. The plot was just ok & it just didn’t meet my expectations.. I expected a lot because B&B was a 5⭐️ for me.

I really loved this book. It was overall a palette cleanser and easy read, super funny. The spice was 🤌🏽. The book does touch on some heavy topics as all the MC’s are struggling with their own pasts but the beauty of this story was that they all come together to help one another heal. I ate this book up. If you like why choose, rom-com & 4 best friends that choose to fake date then you’ll love this book.

It was a bust for me.

1. The book was marketed as enemies to lovers & I don’t see how. People gave it 2 peppers and I’m unsure where exactly those peppers came from cause there was no spice up to 83% and even then it was just a kiss. It’s more of a slow burn, in my opinion & should have been marketed that way. I, in no way, need spice in my books BUT when you market it as enemies to lovers, I expect them to become lovers not just kiss. Kissing doesn’t equate to lovers.

2. I felt like part one was so rushed, the world building was mediocre & the magic system isn’t explained well. So for me, it was garbage from the jump but I continued on thinking it’d get better or explained better.

3.  I also HATED how it randomly switched POV’s without letting us know cause then I’m scrabbling to find out who is talking and what just happened. I kept thinking my audio glitched. One second we’re in the FMC’s pov and the next with no notice we’re in the MMC’s pov. There were random time jumps with no notice. So once again you’re left wondering what is happening.

4. If you read this book & loved it, I love that for you. It just wasn’t for me.

I read this book as a buddy read and just like with the others I read in this series, it’s not memorable. The plot wasn’t there, the spice wasn’t either; it was a mediocre read at best. I’m glad I read it because now I can read Madness without wondering if Dark Kingdom ties in. Overall, I give the entirety of the series 3⭐️ — I don’t recommend this to others but also, I’m glad I read it.

This book was breakingly beautiful. The magic, the oppression, the fight to stop a war (maybe) and young girl finding the courage to do whatever is necessary to save her realm. This book is action packed & touches on real world issues in a modern fantasy world. I truly enjoyed this book and will be waiting impatiently for the next book in the series.

I loved Callahan as a side character in Terms & Conditions. His friendship with Iris is top tier.
In this book, I truly fell for him. The way this man & book gripped me! His heart is so pure but he has demons. But the way this man loves Lana & wanted to prove it to her, made my heart melt. I loved Lana — I liked that she told it like it is & that she was honest with Callahan about wanting him to fight his demons for himself, not for anyone else. Lana & Cal’s relationship was so cute. The banter, the years of history & friendship. I loved how well they knew each other, even after years apart. Loved this series & definitely recommend it.
