this had some of the most riveting dialogue I've ever encountered, but some of it felt very heavy handed at times. nonetheless, a thought provoking piece I am very eager to continue engaging with.

it's hard to convey such complex and visceral emotions in writing, let alone in a middle grade novel, but Palacio does it with such ease.

is this awful writing? yes.

did I have an absolutely great time? also yes.

does Edward low-key have rizz and great comedic timing? unfortunately yes.

(but really the amount of growls and sighs had me ready to pass away. did Stephanie not have access to any other verbs to describe dialogue???)
