Wow! What a thrilling fantasy read! After the really confusing start, I was hooked. There are plenty of unlikeable characters, but somehow, I came to emphasize with them. The writing and world building are incredible.
I listened to this on audio, and I have to say this narrator is one of the best I've listened to. I particularly enjoyed it when he didn't turn into a chipmunk when I cranked up the speed.
I'm definitely looking forward to more from both the author and narrator.

This was my first foray into Japanese literature, and it surely won't be my last!
This is a tender and cozy story about reconnecting with the past and allowing yourself to move forward at the same time. All while being centered around delicious food. I LOVE books about food and how often it leads to fond memories with family and friends.
The beautiful yet simple writing style really compliments the setting. The Kamogawa diner, from the outside, looks abandoned, but inside, you will find much more than a good meal.
I can't wait to read the next one!

I found this hard to rate. Still thinking on it. It had several tropes I absolutely do not like.
