This story pleasantly surprised me. I dont usually enjoy pirate themed books, but this one grew on me.
The beginning of the book where it was only "yo ho ho and a bottle of rum" was boring. Nothing peaked my interest as it was very cliche. BUT, once you are introduced to the sunken city that's where the story came to life for me. Every single thing was predictable, however, I didn't care. I was craving to learn more and more about this underwater world!

Once upon a time there was a girl named Taryn and she was a wet blanket. The End.
...What a waste of a novella

YES YES YES GIMMIE GIMMIE GIMMIE!
I am in love with this series, it's perfection! The predictable became unpredictable!
I don't know what to say because there is so much to say, just, READ THIS SERIES RIGHT NOW!

What a freaking perfect way to wrap up this story...I was so excited to see what happened that I don't think I ever read so fast in my life to see what was happening.
Holly Black, PLEASE keep writing books about this world and these characters...I need prequels and sequels galore!

I love how this tied so much together in the series and the illustrations were wonderful!

I was only going to give this 4 stars until the last 20 or so pages...HOLY plot twist!
Until the end it was pretty much the same general story as the Cruel Prince series just with different characters...but the end...THE END...oh my, the book gods did work with this ending!

I thought the series would clean sweep with 5 stars BUT in the middle of this book it dragged a bit and I found myself skimming and that's never a good thing.
I am still and will forever be in love with all of the Elfhame books. That magical world has my heart!

Half the book was good and the other half zzzzzzzz...everything is so darn predictable.
I'm in too deep to stop reading the series now, so off I go to the third book!

This was the worst of the series...all the things were rushed and easy. Had so much potential to be the best book of the series...big let down.

I was super excited about this book but it was such a let down. I have never DNFed a book...I will always power thru them...but this one popped the cherry...in 4hrs I only read 80pgs cuz I kept putting it down. I just couldn't get into it. The story was good but I think the writing just made it so bad for me. The guilt in my heart about not finishing this book is real...but I will never pick it back up again...sad day.
