If I Dig You by Colby Wilkens
Received an eARC from netgalley but am abstaining from reviewing this as it's been pulled from publishing.
Dance of Thieves by Mary E. Pearson

I'm hacking the library's mainframe and jumping the queue for book two

this is lovely. good representation about growing up and changing and loss, in multiple ways. The artwork is so cute and charming

There were parts of this I really liked but I struggled to stay engaged at times. I do think that was mostly a me problem because the concepts in the book were interesting, it just felt like the pacing was off and parts of it were rushed while others fell flat for me. If it looks like an interesting read to you, I'd still recommend it.

There was a couple big just shake them and make them do the thing moments but overall I liked the characters and the story. I think the single POV worked particularly well
Romeow and Juliet by Kathi Daley

This book has everything about food and body image we should've left in the past. Only part of the mystery wraps up in this book and it's clumsy and jumpy especially at the end. I'm annoyed because I do not want to read the second book but I want to know what happens 🫠 it's very clear why this was $0.99 lol
Just Haven't Met You Yet by Sophie Cousens

The audio is wonderful. It really brings out the zany nature of the main character. I loved imagining what I'd feel if I was a side character meeting this gal. It was fun and unhinged and I ate it up
Heavenbreaker (Deluxe Limited Edition) by Sara Wolf

I can't decide where this falls on the 4-5 scale for me but wow did I love it. I was vibing almost immediately and thought the Sara Wolf laid out thes breadcrumbs and delivered incredibly. This world is so cool and I loved the POVs we got. I was feral and reading until I couldn't keep my eyes open every day. I would begin a medieval revenge quest to get my hands on book two TODAY.

I can never decide how I feel about unreliable narrators ( this is not a spoiler it's very obvious this broad is crazy from day 1) but this book was a ride. The audio was pretty enjoyable, I think I liked it more that way than I would've reading it on page
This Ravenous Fate by Hayley Dennings

This is like an evolved version of the vampire novels that flooded the market in the aughts. It was a little convoluted at times and a little longer maybe than it needed to be, but I found the basic premise pretty good. The way it ended I would've have been surprised either way if it had been a standalone or the beginning of a series. I think I care enough to read the next one but I'm not foaming at the mouth for it.
