‘I bring with me abnormalities and irregularities, like crude mountains and the meandering waters, but it’s true that with you by my side, these irregularities fuse into something exuberant, something deep and something charming.”
This book holds a story of two single women with England as a backdrop. Nayantara a single working woman who is struggling to let go of her past. Nicola, daughter of her housekeeper Mrs. Patrick and her trustworthy friend. One day a man landed in both girl’s life. Will both girls find their love?
The charm of this book is the sonnets (poems) Nidra translate beautifully. I like the way the author develops the character and relationship of Nayantara and Nicola. The storyline is good. But I find a bit of abruption with narration and transition of scenes, it makes me confused. Apart from this, it is a sweet and simple read.

There are not many things that can explore the human soul as effectively and deeply as poetry. When a poet takes the time to analyze his feelings and put them on paper, a miracle happens. This miracle also occurs in Anurag Bhattacharya’s poetry collection, “Drumbeats in my empty soul”.
Life is a collection of moments, the souvenir of a time spent on earth alive and living life to its fullest. These moments define who we are. All the poetries in this book are moments, places, and people author live and experience in his journey.
What particularly struck me during my reading this collection is Anurag’s emotional straightforwardness. The candor and emotional honesty in the poetry are the elements enough to make readers appreciate the entire collection. I found every poem in this collection amazingly beautiful, along with depth and meaning and though I find it difficult to choose a personal favorite, a few of them remain with me after closing the book. These are my favorites “I am writing my own story”, “Bombay of my heart”, His broken innocence” and “Broken dreams make new”.
“I will gather those pieces, stick them together, to make a new.
There is one simple drill, the popular culture told me,
Gather up and rise again.”
Overall, this is a powerful, reflective, and beautiful collection of poetry.
The book title immediately grabs one’s attention and then jumps to Tyler’s growing up years living with his abusive father. As a child and growing up author suffered in a way that children should never suffer, yet it happens repeatedly to so many. My heart ached for Tyler as I read the different accounts throughout the book about how his abusive father treated him. I highly admire the author for his courage in writing his story.
Want to give you a warning do not judge this book by the blurb, it mentions that it is a poetry collection, but I simply find it a more like memoir of the author. Maybe it is because of editing as I read the electronic version. I will not call it an easy read. sometimes it is difficult to read the details of what the author had to endure growing up. I like the way the author learns it is possible to heal from the depths of the darkest trauma and achieve a life of peace and contentment.
Apart from the blurb, this is a story, cathartic to some and shocking to all.

Being an admirer of the real heroes “The Soldiers” of our country, I was hooked to read this book.
The book starts with the exodus of Kashmiri pandits from their land. The story revolves around a common Kashmiri pandit girl Shireen and Indian soldier Major Paramjeet Singh. They both are from different cultures and areas. they both hold their pain and struggles. One accident just makes their path crossed and series of meetings brings them closer. Shireen has her pain and fear. Will Shireen be able to find peace and able to fight with her fears?
This book is not just a love story, it holds many emotions like fear of a soldier's family losing him in battle, and the devotion of a soldier towards the motherland. The author covers many sensitive issues like the exodus of Kashmiri pandits, Riots in Kashmir, Bloodsheds, and struggle for identity and livelihood. Seeing the agony and struggle of Kashmiri’s just overwhelmed me. The writing style is lucid with captative narration. Overall, it is a good fictional read with the perfect blend of emotions.

Love and Sedition by Prathamesh Malaikar features a good plot, well-crafted characters, and a political setting that reflects the drama the world is witnessing in politics today.
The book holds the story of two dynamic youngsters. They both have a different political ideologies to bring change in society. Will these differences affect their relationship with each other?
I find the story appealing with compelling characters. The plot could be a strength of this book if it develops properly with proper narration and dialogues. However, readers will love to follow the story about the relationship between Neerja and Sahil, a relationship that is held in place by a very fragile thread. I enjoyed how the two characters evolved.
The author portrays the toxicity of dirty politics. The conflict is huge, and it propels the story swiftly forward. Overall, this is crisp political fiction and recommended who like to read on politics.

The Imperfect Bride by Rubina Ramesh is a delicious romantic comedy surrounding the antics of a nearly divorced couple.
This was a simple story of Ruchika and Kabir tempered with romance and wittiness. They both were childhood friends, got married in an awkward situation. Then started the roller coaster ride of their married life with series of funny blunders. They were both in denial to accept this relationship. Do they realize the love for each other?
I love a good romance with a twist of humorous writing and it is not an easy task to blend them, author Rubina developed a character in Ruchika that appealed to my sensibilities and my sense of humor. The circumstances and accidents Ruchika gets herself into were hilarious. She had me laughing throughout the whole book. I nearly completed this read in one go. I could sense the love/hate emotions between Ruchika and Kabir as they struggled to maintain their choice of separation. The characters and their foibles were so real and normal that they were easily related to and quite entertaining. The book is seamless, well-edited, and not at all pretentious, it is straight forward romantic comedy. I am impressed with the author’s style and looking forward to reading more work from her.
Overall, I enjoyed reading this book and surely recommend it to everyone who likes to read a combination of comedy and romance.

“Of the Heart and Soul – A Mellifluous Whisper” by “Piyali Mitra” is a collection of love to reflection and nature-themed poems. The poem themes are wide-ranging, many of her poems are inspired by the fallen leaves, wild animals, and her own gardens.
I feel Piyali’s work taut yet open-ended, making reading each poem both a defined and liberating experience. This is a book of poetry you can take as much, on the surface level you will find some beautiful words and verses but looking deeper you will unlock a multitude of different meanings, thoughts, and reflections limited only by your imagination.
As a holistic lifestyle enthusiast, I always enjoy things that will make me think on different levels. And this book is kind of one. Overall, three is a lot to enjoy about this book, and it is certainly reflective.

The Idiosyncrasies of Life: Dualities is a collection of poetic and short stories works in the introspective, and psychological subgenre penned by Rishabh Dubey.
The book is divided into four parts across a variety of themes, but all of the works possess a deep-thinking style that explores different psycho-social themes from woman, love, dreams, and journey of life itself.
I enjoyed the shifting styles in the work, from more prosaic and complex ideas to simpler short stories, and I appreciated that the work never lost its charm. For me, several poems spoke about pertinent issues, and fears that I have. For example, “The seven ages of a woman” really stuck with me for its poignancy, visual quality, and raw expressions of pain.
Overall, I recommend this book to fans of thought-provoking poetry, beautifully penned short stories, and for emotive, psychologically minded readers.

“But she has a boyfriend” by “Rohit Mane” is a moving contemporary romance that pulls on your heartstrings. It centers on college romance that will appeal to every young adult.
Let’s dive into the small world of Rohan and Aditi, which will take you to the nostalgic ride of college life. I will not talk more about the story as it will be a spoiler. But as the book blurb mentions it is not a love story, it is a story of love. It’s true, Rohit has created a magnetic story that builds with emotions, drama, humor, and love.
I like how the author starts by introducing the key players simply and with humor for example the introduction of Rohan’s college friends, I just remembered my college gang after reading that part. The author has created a relatable story and realistic characters.
I especially love the easy dialogues, witty banter, simple writing, and clean editing.
Overall, I would recommend this read to fans of contemporary young adult romance, and simple writing with a tinge of humor.

There is a fact that the antidote can be found in the wound itself but allowing that fact to penetrate the human heart and influence our attitude towards adversity is the greatest challenge. “I am Invincible” by “Neelam Kumar” is a pearl for readers seeking true tales that are uplifting and encouraging.
The book is divided into two sections: the first section talks about the inspiring stories of cancer fighters and, the second section talks about other adversity fighters like heart transplant survivors, a gang rape survivor, domestic abuse survivor, and so on. I am mesmerized to show the courage, spirit, and their journey.
The language of this book is so easy. The more interesting part of this read is the insights and real-life experiences the author shares with readers. In brilliant style articulates the themes that are intimate to the human soul. In the heart of this book, I find a beautiful message that we are greater than our past, greater than our feelings, and greater than our fears. This is a book that should be on all library shelves for people to find and adore.
