Anna has been in love with Gunner for ten years - but she is sick of waiting to be viewed as more than his best friend’s little sister. Gunner has watched and loved Anna from a distance for ages. But when he has to keep her close to protect her - he can’t help but stop protecting his heart.

WOW. Talk about some mutual pining and angst. Gunner and Anna have it. They are both so in love and both so blind to the others’ feelings and it is a gut punch. And when I had to take a breather because I just couldn’t take the pain anymore - they have this epic moment and it is gut-wrenching and beautiful and I loved every second. This has so many great twists on tropes including forced proximity, best friend’s little sister, and mutual pining. There are even some crazy family dynamics on Gunner’s side (holy don’t drink the kool-aid batman.) This is a steamy read to be sure with some language that might not be everyone’s cup of tea but definitely worked for the characters. I would say don’t start this series here - you don’t have to read these in order but Anna and Gunner’s story really starts well before their book.

Keirnan is a tomboy and one of the guys and definitely struggling to cash in that v-card she is carrying around. Brooks is the big man on campus and headed straight to the NFL. So why does this curious, tiny softball tomboy make him want to break all his rules?

I will be perfectly honest - new adult is not really my thing but this might be the exception (yes - pun intended.) There were some intense moments, some moments that made me wince remembering college... and some moments that were searingly sexy. Keirnan had some great energy and really tried to be true to herself and no turn in to someone she can't recognize. Brooks was not a dude I immediately fell for - but omg - worth the wait! I can't wait to dive in to book two!

Will and Robyn have known each other forever. Grown-up next to each other and been best friends for years - until Will's identical twin mucked it all up. Now they are just learning to be friends again - in time for said twin to return home. This was a gut-wrenching, rom-com with some twin brothers, friends to lovers and a love triangle - all with the backdrop of the real story: learning to live - really live.

Robyn Bloom feels a bit stuck in her life when a health scare - scares her right into starting a club all based on ticking things off the bucket list. She along with her ride or die besties and a set of twins that are really each their own headache try everything from sailing to burlesque dancing. Will and Ash are both heroes in the story in their own right. Will is the quintessential boy next door that is the stolid, calm town GP and the twin that has it all together. Ash is the fun one though. - and who doesn't love the fun one? (Honestly - I found him to be a prat for the most part but either he grew on me or grew as a character... I am still not convinced of which.)

Definitely more women's fiction or relationship fiction than steamy romance. It is a great read and a solidly good time!

Deacon Black didn't like his ex-wife's best friend BEFORE the divorce - when she comes crashing back into his life years after it - can it get any better? Annalise Grimaldi is many things - curvy, fashionable, and Dani's best friend. But when there is blood on the floor (literally) and a missing woman - the only person she can turn to is the one man she has always hated.

The first book in a new suspense romance series and despite it being enemies to lovers - I didn't hate it. Anna is a really good friend despite her bestie being a toxic jerk (literally this was the most toxic female friendship I have read in a loooooong time.) She is a bit shallow and is nearly Too Stupid To Live - but ends up really growing and changing and FINALLY stands up for herself. Deacon is a badass with a chip on his shoulder and is a complete arse for about 30% of the book but ends up redeeming himself and doing some great groveling in the form of a declaration of action.

It is a slow burn with some moderate to serious heat in the love scenes but the internal monologue level is high and often drags the pace of the story down. I am intrigued by the rest of the team for the most part and wouldn't hate reading more of her books. (Her MC crew shows up a bit and you don't really have to have that backstory to enjoy this one.)

Detective Alexandra Monzelle doesn't need help cracking cases, taking care of herself or taking out Seattle's scummiest members of society. Unfortunately - a certain large and rather handsome Irishman has something to say about that. Kell Dunne isn't sure why the pint-sized cop insists on doing everything on her own - but he is very aware that she is getting dangerously in over her head when the drug Apollo is hitting the streets with serious consequences for humans and witches alike.

I have destroyed a hefty amount of Zanetti's backlog in order this spring but the Realm Enforcers are a spin-off of the Dark Protectors and I finally get to see some of my favorite side characters! Kell is the strong, silent type with a type - and he is adorable as he catches feelings for someone who - strangely enough, won't just do as she is told. Lex is a tough as nails lady who needs no man - though against her better judgment likes a certain (possibly insane) man on a Harley. These opposites attract, blow some stuff up and learn to communicate and it is all a fast-paced, sexy as hell and totally a fun ride.

Overall series note: So far the Realm Enforcers seems to be a bit lighter on the Doom, Death and Destruction of the Dark Protectors (which I also love) but these are much more urban fantasy without so much at stake. Definitely should be read in order but really don't necessarily need Dark Protectors... but it would help. (Right after Mated is when this happens in the timeline.)

This was a wild ride! Felicity "Cee Cee" Kyllwood is a single mother and loves beyond fiercely and now that she can live more for herself? Watch the heck out! Daire Dunne likes order and falling for a half-crazy demoness who has set out to right wrongs and maybe rob a few banks along the way? Definitely not orderly or planned...

I loved this! It had a very different tone because they were both more mature adults and because Cee Cee was a mother and a single mother at that. She had things to worry about and had put herself second for so long that it was finally her chance to live - plus we get some hella awesome and awkward moments where the Kyllwood Three meet Daire.

Adam is the Dunne who is the most quiet, most serious and the most unlikely to put up with a rocker chick who keeps ruining his perfectly good plans. Victoria is done - utterly done with the witches, vampires and demons (and whatever the heck Bear is) that have suddenly turned her life upside down.

Opposites attract with two people who are as emotionally available as an iceberg? HECK YES. Another fast-paced steamy love story with a badass lady )(with purple hair and some serious powers of her own!) and an awkward as heck, grump who definitely - DEFINITELY - won't fall in love.

Damon has a problem - a big problem - and to prove his innocence to the NFL and the world he needs one very prickly PI to act not only as an investigator but also as his girlfriend. Evie has more than enough on her plate with a pyscho ex and a too attractive for his own good client - falling for that client won't make anything any easier.

This was... okay. Honestly, it wasn't fabulous and it wasn't bad- but it was okay. Both Damon and Evie are pretty indecisive about their feelings and what they want from each other - leading to some awkward moments and frustrating to me as a reader. But Evie is pretty badass and doesn't need a knight in shining armor and Damon sort of grows up? (I couldn't really tell.) I did like the side characters and wonder if from here on out the series will be more to my taste. I also don't really know/ like/ care about football and this one had a lot more of the NFL story to it that could just not have been to my taste.

Wren Nelson is a badass... with a keyboard but much less intimidating when not bathed in blue light. And definitely not known as a ladies' man. But when his downstairs neighbor - Whitney Nelson - has a rather interesting package mistakenly delivered to him. He finds himself obsessed with the purple-haired techie. Can they be everything the other needs?

This might actually stretch to 3.5 stars. I love me some nerdy heroes - but this was nerd love all around and it was cute. The premise was odd though. Wren essentially cyberstalks this young woman and hides her package (with erotic materials). There was warning of this in the foreword and he is well aware it is creep - but does being aware make it less creepy? It was interesting his interactions and the drive for WHY he did what he did. Otherwise, this would have been a nonstarter for me. Wren is also a hero but he is not the badass that saves the girl. He does the research and sends the badasses to save the girl which was an interesting twist too. I kind of liked that he didn't magically get good at hand to hand combat. Whitney is funny and cynical and nerdy and righteous and I liked her. I did want more of her own character development. This definitely seemed more like Wren's story than her's.

What definitely took me by surprise was the level of heat - kinky heat at that. I don't tend to read erotica but this definitely still had plot.
