Mostly a character development novella - can’t say I got too into this one, to be honest. ACOTAR may just not be for me??

A really interesting portrayal of growing up in the projects in the 90s. The author did a great job telling the story through the eyes of a child while making it immersive for an adult reader.

75% of the book is Andy being a big, annoying baby. We all know men like this and it was somewhat insufferable - which means the author did an excellent job of capturing those traits. Doesn’t mean I enjoyed it that much, though.
adventurous informative mysterious medium-paced

I had no idea the world of fly tying was so intriguing (and insidious)! It was interesting diving into the background of this theft and everything that ensued afterwards.

I freaking loved this book. It somehow managed to be heavy and light at the same time. The focus on the science was so thorough without being tedious at all. I loved the main characters so much. It wasn’t what I expected in the best way possible. I don’t think I’m going to be able to stop thinking about this one for a long time. In the running for my favorite book of the year.

Super unique. I really liked it, but I wish it had been shorter. It got a bit too repetitive as it went on.

Still struggling a bit with the macho-men MCs, but the storyline is intriguing and enjoyable.

Generally enjoyed this one! The element of birding throughout was pretty awesome. There were parts of Celeste that bugged me, she was a bit too consistently immature to really love. But all in all this was a good read.

I really enjoyed this - I haven’t read anything quite like it before. The mix of character development and plot was good, though I would honestly say the plot seemed to come second. Not necessarily a bad thing, though some may find it so.
