This had more angst and drama than I expected but I honestly loved it! You definitely need to trust the process with this book, wasn’t too sure of Dane in some parts but really really loved him in the end
The communication in this was AMAZING I loved that they immediately talked about every thing that came up!! There were so many points were I was so scared that miscommunication would ruin everything and then they just ✨talked✨ it was amazing

This was exactly what I wanted, it’s predictable and cliche but also very very cute and heartwarming, which was just what I needed right now

I’m lowkey confused because i thought this book was kinda boring?? I don’t think I’ll continue this series. Idk if I’m just I’m my hater era or if I genuinely disliked it but I guess we’ll never find out
I loved the first one and was so intrigued but this book did not keep me invested at alllllll. I can kinda see why others might love this series but this book just wasn’t it for me. I felt like there was no real plot except for Dianna running away from Samkiel and him whining after her (except for the ending which is when basically everything happened). I was more invested in Cameron and Xavier than Samkiel and Dianna lol

This review will be nothing but a big ass dramatic, passive aggressive rant because I’m so fucking disappointed and sad

First off a positive thing: I adore Ali Hazelwood’s writing style and this book was no different. Based on her writing style alone this would’ve been an easy 5 star read.. I could not put this book down and I literally read this in 24 hours - of which 7 were spent sleeping and 9 were spent at uni so that should tell you how addicting this book was.
It’s sadly just the plot that I fucking despised

Why did no one warn me that this book basically has a fucking love triangle???WHICH IS THE MAIN ROMANCE PLOT???? And not even the fun kind, where we get the fmc’s pov and she can’t choose NO it’s the mmc’s love triangle and that kind of made the book unbearable to me??? I don’t read romance FICTION to read this garbage?? What the fuck Ali
I don’t know how everyone else enjoyed the fact that this frustrating as fuck and there’s a third person in the way of the main character’s relationship the whole fucking time??? Like I just hated that Pen was such a big part of Scarlett and Lukas’ relationship? Can they have ONE conversation that doesn’t mention Pen????? It got so fucking old after a while. I kept reading because I held on to hope that this would get resolved and it’ll be something I’d have to get over but NOPE

Also why add Scarlett going to therapy when it literally does nothing to help her and all she does is lie to her therapist? And the thing that helps her at the end is the mmc??

The thing I usually love about Ali Hazelwood’s books is that they make me SO giddy and they’re so fucking unrealistic, it’s amazing. They’re pure escapism. Like that’s the reason I read (romance) fiction. I’m sorry but this one made me MISERABLE
This started out as a 5 star book and then it just went downhill continuously

I did like the spice but they nowhere near as kinky or spicy as I expected from the way Pen talks about Lukas’ preferences in the beginning (or the way booktok has been talking about this book). And I don’t think they actually do any of the stuff that they had the bdsm list for?

Yeah I just hate this book with every fibre of my being
I need to bleach my eyeballs and erase this book from my brain and act like it doesn’t exist please.

I thought this was super funny and Zeke and Carter made me SO giddy
There are just two things that felt really icky to me that made this not 4 stars, as well as that after a while I wasn’t that invested anymore

There’s no real OM drama or cheating but for the people who are like me, I would like to point out that there’s an on page scene of Carter hooking up with someone else after Carter and Zeke already started getting closer. (This is something I despise except if it’s right at the beginning, when the love story between the mc’s hasn’t started yet, so if you’re like that too, beware)
I was able to ignore that that scene exists after a while though and it didn’t have a too big impact on my reading experience

Also, as a German, the way Vasel talked was such a fucking cliche and I despised it because it was so fucking cringy

I had the best time reading this book!!! It’s was very very funny and had everything I want in a single dad x nanny romance
Loved Isa and Mateo’s dynamic and the way they were down bad for each other since the beginning, yet it was still very much a slow burn romance

The first time I read this book was around two years ago and I was kinda scared I wasn’t gonna like it this time around  because my taste in books changed quite a bit. But I actually really enjoyed reading it for the second time!!! Really looking forward to rereading the first four books and finally reading the 5th and 6th now!!!
