The first time I read this book was around two years ago and I was kinda scared I wasn’t gonna like it this time around because my taste in books changed quite a bit. But I actually really enjoyed reading it for the second time!!! Really looking forward to rereading the first four books and finally reading the 5th and 6th now!!!
It took me a while to finally pick this up and I have to say… I kinda wish I didn’t.
There were a few scenes that I loved and that made me cry, that I wanted to see so badly while reading the other books. But the rest of this book was a hot mess and I didn’t enjoy reading it except for a few chapters. There was like 5% plot and 95% the characters just talking to each other about the plot of the other books with some random smut thrown in
The back and forth between so many different perspectives was EXHAUSTING
I wish this was just from Morana’s perspective or maybe Lyla but having everyone’s perspective was too much
Idk what I expected but I think the only way to love this book is through character attachment. Give me the same story but with only Morana/Tristan or Lyla‘s perspective - 5 stars. But because I didn’t like Zephyr and Alpha’s book (and their characters) I really didn’t care for their chapters and the other were kinda meh. I loved Dante and Amara but I didn’t need another book from their perspective. Their story is done. I only wanted to see Lyla and Tristan meet and for them to finally sort out the whole Syndicater thing. Idk I think this book wasn’t really my cup of tea but there were some scenes that I ate up and loved
Also, did I somehow have an early copy on my kindle or why the fuck were there so many typos in this?? And who the fuck is Felicity???? (In one chapter I’m assuming Runyx meant so say Lyla but she randomly used the name Felicity in one sentence???) did no one think to edit this book before publishing?
I’m gonna pretend like this book doesn’t exist and keep loving the first three and the fifth book.
I was gonna push through and read the rest but life’s too short to read something I think is garbage
I believe in one god and that god‘s name is Xaden Riorson 🧎🏼♀️🤩🥵😍😭
Every time Xaden called Violet love I melted into a puddle.
I feel like, to me, this was kind of a filler book. At certain points I felt like the plot was lacking a bit and it was a bit slow. Butttttt I still loved this book a lot!! And while I did think the plot was different and slower than the other two books, the direction this story took was really interesting!! I just don’t think I expected this story to play out the way it did in this book
There were also so many funny moments and I really appreciated the comedic relief this book also provided. While it was really emotional it was also so so funny sometimes!!
I really don’t know how I’m gonna wait for the next book… but I survived the year from Iron Flame to this so I hope I’ll somehow make it
Also an addition to my original review: Ridoc was the star of the book!! I loved him before but he was my favourite side character in this book. His relationship with Aotrom was soooooo funny and I loved seeing more of it. His commentary honestly made the book so much better

I don’t usually like books where we see the main characters fucking around with other people but I’m making an exception for this one. This truly was so so beautiful and also so heartbreaking.
I did not expect this book to touch me this deeply
I enjoyed this and it was a nice spicy quick read! Not anything special though and I didn’t like it as much as the first one
I would like to point out however that I really liked the autism rep in this book! I loved that Hallie wasn’t the usual stereotypical autistic girl (which is still important to represent in books) but something I can actually really relate to
