The length of the book intimidated and hindered me from starting it earlier for a long time but I’ve loved the new Netflix adaptation so thought I’d give it a try and I’m so glad I did. Em & Dex are going to stay with me for a long time and will help appreciate the people I love so much more. The book is heartbreaking at the end but so so lovely all throughout the rest. I love books that portray healthy relationships and while there are also quite a few not so healthy marriages, flings and character traits there’s so much goodness and wholesomeness in this. And it’s so concisely written that the pages simply flow by.

I’d give this 10/5 stars if I could. So so good, a complex topic but incredibly well done.

Loved it a lot, especially the early chapters and the general idea, the last chapter I merely skipped through as I’m not religious and found the quotes and references from Bible passages very tedious

A slow start but grew on me page by page and while I couldn’t stand the protagonist for quite a while I fell head over heels for all the little details and quirks. A great take on our social-media, constantly-online kind of life. And relationships and the thirties and their biological pressure on women. And difficult mother-daughter relationships. Really loved this.
