I liked that the main characters were young characters that felt young, often books have a young character who is making decisions like a 30+ year old. The magic system was very interesting and well described. I wish that for the main characters relationships that there was a little bit more building with the side characters that were in 3&4.
Love this book, the layers of the story and POVs of each of the characters. I also like that at the end it becomes clear that this is a story told as a precaution.
Loved this book, the stories told, lessons learned, and a view on life that luck happens when you work for it and accept it when it gets here. I've never watched or read Barefoot Contessa media, but I still found this book incredibly enjoyable to read. I found myself smiling throughout as Ina told her story
A very entertaining read with high stakes. I like how most of the characters are written and their stories finished.
I did not like how many POVs there are and I think keeping track of what all the characters know makes it confusing. I wish that there was a limit on how many POVs we had. I also felt like there were some really hateful things done in the friend group, but the resolution wasn't great. Like they just shrugged and accepted an apology for someone kicking them out?
My last gripe, we have all these bad ass warriors who are over a century old, and they are being led by a 20 year old full of trauma? None of the warriors have ideas?
Loved the thirteen. I liked the little bit of the cadre relationship we saw.
A very entertaining heist novel. This was a great ending to the duology. I liked that the reader is given just enough information to try to figure out the solution to the problem.
This was such a good conclusion to the trilogy. The letter from Mr. Holmes and voice memo from Letha made me cry like a baby.
I thought that the obsession Jade feels with the horror genre along with her acknowledgement that native people are not included except for the Shining was great. I enjoyed seeing Jade as a history teacher and her care for her students. It felt like we came full circle from the first book to the ending.
I enjoyed the multiple POVs in this book and the twists leading to the ending. I found Jade to be more likable this time and more relatable. I'm looking forward to the third book.
