An excellent oral history that I might add to my next comp. 2 syllabus!

An excellent book and great listen. The film adaptation truly fell short. It might have been okay for those who haven't read the book, but I was already tainted and knew how good (how much better) it could have been.

So creepy and terrific! Don't be fooled by the film, though. Although it's excellent in its own right, the two are very different and should be regarded as so.

So creepy and brilliant! It's his first novel and quite possibly the best.

I read this in its serial form, which was irritatingly fun. I might not enjoy it as much if I re-read it now, but it's interesting and sufficiently King-esque.

I don't usually like writing books (oddly enough) because good ones are ridiculously rare. I picked this one up because I adore the author, and I was pleasantly surprised at how good it is. King wrote it after his accident--almost as a response--and it combines the story of how he began writing with the story of how hard writing was for him after the accident. And there are some gems in there for those of us who write as well.
