the 2nd book of beartown was good, but i felt myself getting bored. at times it was very sad and frustrating but i can see how someone would like this. i just really enjoyed the first book better. hopefully the final one will live up to the first

IDEK WHERE TO START BC THIS BOOK HAS TO BE THE BEST ONE IN THE SERIES SO FAR! read this in one sitting from midnight to 8am with my bestie!!!
juliette was significantly less annoying and i gained so much more respect for her in this one. one might even say i love her now. so glad she gave her whiny behavior to adam and decided to go all girl boss. she is SOOO BADASS IN THIS BOOK HOT DAMN!!!
oh god and adam HE WAS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE IN THIS. reallyy solidified himself into the POS that he is.
and aaron.. oh aaron… i knew i would love him even from the first book, but this book really did it for me. i understand why the book community loves him so much. he managed to make me sob multiple times in this book. I LOVE HIM MOM I REALLY DO!

i don't even know where to start with this book. like...
i started this in january and the reason it took me so long to read it is because it was sooo sad and heartbreaking that i would have to take week breaks at a time bc of how heavy it was.
the one thing i love about this book is that it focuses on the grief someone experiences AFTER the person dies. this book did that, but also included snippets of time before death. usually books just build up to the characters death, which is all the more heartbreaking. but reading and experiencing joshua's grief with him over the course of a year tore me apart. physically ripped me to pieces.
im pretty sure i cried every time i picked up this book. it was difficult to read this in one go bc i was just not mentally there and i knew it would break me. this is a 5 star book but because i am not gods strongest soldier and an empath i almost gave it 4 stars bc of how long it took me to read all of it. but i only have myself to blame for that.
truly beautiful, love in its purest form, raw and heartbreaking, tragic, healing, and inspiring.

i have been emotional asf recently, so when i opened to the first page of the book, I STARTED SOBBING! i was intimidated by the page count but i feel like it was an appropriate length for everything that happened here. it was steady for most of the book, and then during the final quarter it just started getting really tense.
i don't think i've experienced this much anxiety and chest pain while reading a book. it was intense and even as im writing this i feel so uneasy. numb.
i am completely gutted.
We try to just live our lives, live with each other, live with ourselves. Accepting joy when we find it, bearing grief when it finds us, and being amazed at our children's happiness without falling apart when we think that we can never really protect them.
