Unhinged by Vera Valentine

As bizarre and 'unhinged' this book may be, IT WAS ACTUALLY NOT THAT BAD! Once you get past the sentient door part, you'll be surprised how clever this book actually was. The people who get it get it, and those who don't don't. And that's unfortunate.

The door (wow) is actually soo sweet and cute and genuine, BETTER than most men these days. Why the fuck was I catching feelings for a DOOR?!?!?!?! Not only is it cute–aside from the filth section– but it also has its share of comedy and ANGST!!!!

This was suchhh a breath of fresh air. Obviously, the thought of following a self-help book for dating advice seems a little meh, but once you follow along with Alex to read it, it actually makes a ton of sense!!!

I will admit, Luke had me fooled when we first met him,
Spoilerbut even from the start he was a bunch of red flags that I forced myself to look past.
And then when Miles was introduced, I didn't know who to root for. Clearly, I just had to keep reading and would soon find out
Spoilerwhat a POS Luke was

This book was either gonna be the reason why I stay single forever or have just a slither of hope left for the male species. Olivia did not come to play when writing about these icky, DISGUSTING men.
SpoilerI could not be happier for Alex. SHE AND MILES GOT HER HAPPILY EVER AFTER AND THEY BOTH DESERVE IT SO MUCH!!!

I took off one star just because I wasn't particularly fond of the way the dialogue was formatted. Also, for a book whose entire concept revolves around abstaining and waiting six months for sex, when the sex finally did happen it was very anticlimactic and underwhelming.
SpoilerI wanted it to be sooo much more but maybe the author did that intentionally. I suppose when two people are madly in love and vow not to have sex for six months, I guess that just makes the pent up sexual frustration 100x worse, so I get it. I can look past it because the book was veryy good. I hope to read the second book in the series soon!

I liked this book but I felt like it was veryyyy slow. I don’t think I met Maxon till after the 30% mark. When we finally met him, I started to fall in love with him too. He’s so sweet! And there were so many moments from him that made me swoon like OMGGGG! Although he did one thing towards the end that annoyed me.

I could have added it to my DNF but I still thoroughly liked it enough to finish it and give it 3 stars. That being said, I don’t think I’ll be reading the rest of the books in this series just because it doesn’t interest me enough.

This was such a sweet, cozy read. I picked this book up from the stuff your kindle day so I didn't know the Wilders each had their own book, but after reading this one, I want to complete the entire series! The first chapter was a bit confusing for me, but that's just how my brain is. I fell in love with this family super quick and let me just say, KANE WILDER!!! Ugh I want my very own Kane Wilder. If any other man was put into his situation THEY WOULD BE RUNNING. BUT NOT HIM! And I love him for that.

I just wanna give Mari and Kane a big warm hug and let them know they're doing absolutely amazing! Also, I hope they eventually relieved each other of all that sexual frustration
SpoilerBECAUSE I JUST ABOUT HAD IT WITH THE DONUTS AND THE BOSTON CREAM PIE AND ALL THE DESSERTS LIKE COME ON!

i will be tuning in for nothing like the movies (although i am dreading what will happen because i have a feeling it won’t be a fun time
