I picked this book up after a MASSIVE reading slump and was not disappointed. I was frustrated (in a good way!) with some of the most annoying characters, and I felt truly engrossed in the story. ALSO WHAT A CUTE PREMISE. I was surprised to find it handled darker themes like the mother's mental health, homophobia, and overall rocky family dynamics and how it can affect romantic relationships. Going on my favorites shelf.

I felt like a lot of the stories were left unfinished. i would’ve liked to see more character development. I went in expecting something similar in depth to Secret Lives and Church Ladies and it did not compare.

All that to say, it’s not a bad collection in the slightest. I did genuinely enjoy every story I read. I just wanted more

i don’t mean to discount the importance of this book, i think its impact is incredibly valuable. however, i found the writing of the book itself to be, well, that i’d expect of a celebrity book.
